Butler has done nothing yet to earn anything more than peanuts, yeah he is performing a role but that's it. If i were him i would jump at any contract extension offered.
With Bolton, Stengle, Rioli and Castagna allready on the list I'd be looking at moving on Butler if somebody from the first 22 has to be moved on too fit Dustys contract in the cap, with the small defensive forwards probally at thier premium ATM , I'd think we'd probally get a second rounder for him. In saying that happy for him to stay, however if someone has to go

yeah.

If we won the flag this year, small forwards will be hot stock, and we'd sell one.

I love geezer, but of our small forwards, hes the least likely to be the next Eddie Betts IMHO.

Back on Dusty, I'd be stoked with 7 at 8-9m. The biggest fish in the land is in our boat.

Coaches survey on the site that must not be named ... when asked who the most valuable player in the comp is, Franklin won narrowly over Dangerfield and Eddie Betts was the only other vote-getter.
Were the coaches allowed to vote for one of their own players? Betts getting a vote suggests yes, so then who did Hardwick vote for?
They were asked to rate players based on "on-field skill, the position they play, crowd-drawing capacity and leadership qualities".

Hardwick's smart. He wouldve voted Danger.

Scotts not that bright. He wouldve voted Danger too.

H/S superfooty tweet is locked but headline indicates Dusty about to re sign

That would be great to see Dusty give Carr a backhander and sign now after Carr came during the week saying that Dusty "will make a call on his future by the start of the finals".

Expect the Hawks will target Dusty tomorrow. Try to suck him in.
Clubs have been trying all of Dusty's career. He's only ever reacted once to that flog from the Lions. He'll be right.

Dusty was Ghandi in that situation. That no name player made a total *smile* of himself

I read that Castagna was on $70k plus match payments so I'd assume something similar.
That'd be around the mark for a young fringe player. $ 70k to $100k base plus about $4500 per senior match, a reasonable year gets them about $150k plus so hardly sneezing money. Consistency of performance is what gets them elevated to the AFL average of $350 K per year. Game breaking elite performance gets them the big smelly money n so it should.
There's plenty of extra cap space available for those that want a pay rise, all they need to do is go out n perform to earn it each week.

Honestly what is Norf able to sell Dustin.

Looking at the game tonight geez they look very ordinary..

If ever there was a big boy month this next month is it (and then hopefully September). Hopefully the big boy turns it on.
