Spot on ninjahaha = 37 years

IF there was a B I G, as in the best player out there, as in the Brownlow favorite, a genuine match winner (not playing at Richmond) we would ALL be saying throw him $1.5 and get him to Richmond, we would all be sitting there like the North, Hawks, Swans etc dreaming of having a player like Dusty. So why would we not do the same to KEEP him at the club and end this circus and lock him as a life long tiger. WIN WIN - Financially looked after, Tiger army happy.
And do u know what I don't understand. It's ok and not bad club/list management if Ess or north throw $1.5M a year at dusty but if we do it we're called out for it, negligent in looking out for our pay structures etc etc. If it's ok for other teams why is it not ok for us???

Well as much as I love Dusty and how much we really need him, Richmond would be irresponsible to pay him overs. Paying him overs would mean we would lose some of our younger players and possibly players like Grimes, Astbury etc. The club has been burnt before paying overs and I feel paying overs will once again burn us. 1.2 over 6 years is a pretty good deal. If a club wants to pay more let them. If Dusty loves everything Richmond, he will see the future is bright and this figure is fair. Richmond have looked after Dusty, we as supporters have looked after Dusty. Its time to repay Richmond and us supporters.

Most football managers would factor this in, unfortunately Carr with his entire stable of 3 is just in it for the individual and has no respect for what the bilateral benefits here.
- Mentoring Dusty with Chocco williams
- Supporting him through the chopsticks incident - some calling for a 12 month suspension!
- Managing his need to be close to his deported father

Go on put a price tag on that!!!

If he is holding the club out to randson (he or his manager) not taking the above into considerations shows a lot about the individual he is

Let's just enjoy the year for what it is.

Dusty will decide eventually and we may be pleasantly surprised. And, if he doesn't, life will go on.

I'm pretty zen about this whole thing.

Dusty, with Alex, are the two best one on one players I have seen at Richmond since the 1970s.
I expect each of them to win 7 out of 10 and break even the other three times.

What will be will be, but dusty has given my kids and I much to enjoy in the past 5 years or so.

However, If he pulled on a swans jumper, I would lose all composure and hold on to all kinds of destructive thoughts for a decade or so.

Dusty will have made his decision a while ago.

All the talk is just talk and media beat up to sell papers and get in the news.

I'm not fussed if he leaves. So be it.

I'll be very happy if he stays of course, but it won't make me dislike any club, person etc if he goes.

If Dusty is off to another club on a fat contract good luck to him but its not all doom n gloom if he goes.
When it comes to trading the best time for a player to be off loaded to another club is when they're at their peak and I reckon Dusty's there right now.
Personally I'd rather have the option to bring in 2 x $700k players than paying Dusty anything near 1.4 mill.
The only issue is whether we can orchestrate proper compensation.

Which we won't be able to because he's worth pick 1 and then some, we'll probably end up with a late first.

Highly doubt that when the dust settles we'll have a late 1st for DM.

Ricky Nixon Tweeting that the much waited on contract announcement will be made "in days"

Ah Ricky... Why would he know? He's not Dusty's agent.

Mind you hope it's true.

Another reason to despise the largesse that the AFL provides to franchise clubs. The amount of dosh they have to play with makes a mockery of the game and the AFL enables this engineering of outcomes. Its utter BS and I hope it comes back to bite them on the bum big time!!
So Dusty, please don't go to GWS. They're tossers.

Don't believe that for a minute.
