If he was fool enough as the last 2 stars that went to bottom clubs fior the money , beams and Ablett I'm certain he would suffer same fate , never to play finals again

Agree to a point re NRL, the major difference is that it is not the pinnacle of the sport.......State of Origin is and no one would ever play for another state.
I wouldn't play him or want to support him. I'd still thank him for being a great servant of the club but it would end on the day of an announcement.

Can think of players who have announced they are leaving before finals. Can't think of one who actually played finals after announcing it though

There is a “formula” that decides free agency compensation — and only the suits at AFL House know it. In the guidelines on free agency, compensation is said to be based on:
NEW contract of the free agent. The longer the contract and the more money paid to the free agent, the better the compensation. As player salaries continue to be kept secret, there is no transparency on the AFL formula.
AGE of the free agent.
And the AFL adds this interesting clause: “In applying the formula, an expert committee reviews the formula outcomes. The committee has the power to recommend alternative outcomes where the formula produces a materially anomalous result.”

It's 3 ring circus really.
I understand that he didn't want to make a desicion till the end of the season, but was this his decision or the Merkin advising him, probably the later.
We all know he is entitled to get the best deal possible but it's not like the RFC are offering peanut, this coming from a club that he apparently loves, the players who he loves, the coach who apparently loves..
I think the performance of the team this year has surprised himself, it probably would have made the decision easier if we sat at the ass end of the ladder...cause the presser could've started out as " I'm looking for success and change of environment" but doesn't he love the environment he is in currently and if for some godforsaken reason he goes to Norf for success...I will spew up my breakfast.
If this continues for the next 4 weeks as it's supposedly going to then people will start getting jacked and questioning the manner in which this is all playing out...or perhaps we as supporters are just too invested in our club and player that we have taken to our hearts as one of us..
I think it's time to end the charade and call a presser, the Merkin knows and I'm sure as hell Dustin knows where is going to end up...Enough is Enough.

Bloody stressful for us long suffering supporters but if he were to leave I just don't know.
The only other player I invested so much into was Richo, and he stayed.

Ox was the first to get Buddy to Syd right I do remember that.
And yes watching him run around for Nth would make me puke, but we'd get pick 2 this year and their first pick next year.
