Ox was the first to get Buddy to Syd right I do remember that.
And yes watching him run around for Nth would make me puke, but we'd get pick 2 this year and their first pick next year.
Fire enough shots you eventually hit the target.

Channel nine have got the rights for border security.
Eddie has apparently booked a winnebago after round 23 in New Zealand.....

Buddy (when he was the best player in the league) was Pick 19 in compensation terms. Compare that to the Frawley - Pick 3.

No way anyone could make a determination on what AFL Inc will do. They are just as likely to give our compo pick, wherever it lands, to Gold Coast and to stop us from trading (al-la Sydney) just because.

If Dusty announces he is leaving after Rd23 do we let him play in the premiership?
Of course, he'd be a major part of the reason we got to a G.F. in the first place n we'd be 100 to 1 against in a two horse race of winning it if we then turned around n dumped him from the side.

More than happy to bank a flag with Dusty in the side, even if he wants to be somewhere else next year. I'm old enough to put the hand out n take now, bugger maybe nearly next time. The club will still be here next year n the year after, the flag opportunity might not.

If dusty was gonna stay.
Fair enough u want the best possible cash outcome u can get. But...
Do u also want to win a premiership or three...?
If so, wouldn't it be inbest interes of yourself and club to sign now and left the club work towards bringing more quality (chf for example) into the club??
By delaying ur hampering the rfc and your chances of improving the team.
Yes go for the best individually, but it's a team sport, it's the team that's gonna win a premiership, why would you jeopardise this for your own self wealth???
The ultimate is winning a premiership I would have thought so what's the point of a rd 23 announcement?????

It's weird. Every day this drags on, the more angry I get about the whole situation. I love Dusty, but he isn't bigger than the club.

37 years of being a joke of a club after pay wars destroyed us. The club that has taken the longest to recover form the transition to a national comp. What other club comes out of an era like that with 75000 odd members and draws the biggest crowds on match day? Finally we look on the cusp of being a competitive club again, we have the best player in the comp dawning on our most successful period in almost 4 decades.

That player ends up being in love with the club and his team mates, but also a man capable of not giving a flying fig over what anyone else thinks (apart from his dad I bet!) So he is Prepared and capable of playing the professional hand, that involves looking after number one, Himself. As fate would have it, in a perfect storm, he come's across a new enigma in the footy industry. The first of his kind. A guy who would screw his own Grandma to fullfill his ambition. More suffering for the fans that are always prefixed with "long suffering".

So here we are, do we pay the man who is for many of us our favourite player since Richo, the most $$$$$$$$$$$ of any player in the comp?

Does he choose to go else where for whatever reason he feels is in his best interest?

or do we have to just let him walk because we know the consequences of over paying one man?

To me it seems our only option is to go all in. Pay Dusty whatever its cost's, jump at the chance of a flag while Jack Rance and Cotch are around.

But fail and what will the cost be?

I tend to agree, didn't think it was possible only 12 months ago , but maybe a premiership is a real possibility over the next 4 years the way the players are coming on,

I think that window closes big time without Dustin , he is that good , he is the difference

Get it done Richmond

And this is what a good sports Manager would be advising him on. But he's with RCM. So it's Money is all that matters

Well as much as I love Dusty and how much we really need him, Richmond would be irresponsible to pay him overs. Paying him overs would mean we would lose some of our younger players and possibly players like Grimes, Astbury etc. The club has been burnt before paying overs and I feel paying overs will once again burn us. 1.2 over 6 years is a pretty good deal. If a club wants to pay more let them. If Dusty loves everything Richmond, he will see the future is bright and this figure is fair. Richmond have looked after Dusty, we as supporters have looked after Dusty. Its time to repay Richmond and us supporters.

Its a roller coaster. He stays, he goes, we match the offer, lucrative offers from other clubs, he loves us, he dosent love the offer, the circus being his player manager, lets offer him $1.3, lets not break the bank, its it just all about money, wait and see how the club performs, oops - we are finals bound now what.

I have factored in the joy of him re - signing all the way to how loud I will BOOOO when he plays against us in 2018. Rance will match him for strength up forward, on the ball you just have contest as hard as he can, we dont have anyone that would beat him on ball.

Spot on ninjahaha = 37 years

IF there was a B I G, as in the best player out there, as in the Brownlow favorite, a genuine match winner (not playing at Richmond) we would ALL be saying throw him $1.5 and get him to Richmond, we would all be sitting there like the North, Hawks, Swans etc dreaming of having a player like Dusty. So why would we not do the same to KEEP him at the club and end this circus and lock him as a life long tiger. WIN WIN - Financially looked after, Tiger army happy.
