Ralph is loving this, he has got himself a full page spread by Barrett on the AFL website. If you want to throw up your breakfast or lunch have a read.

so its all Jacko's fault? ;D

seriously though, nothing new there.

The longer this plays out, the more we can hint at it backfiring again.

Not so sure it's in Carr's best interests to hold out into the finals.

Understand veterans looking to stay in the game. Kelly to Essendon is a good example.

But to a man they are motivated by flags and team success.

The Bernard tomics of the AFL are weeded out very early.

Wait... are you saying that AFL players are above leaving for money over success? OMG that is hilarious. :rofl

It defies logic that he would announce that he was leaving in the week before the first final. If he was going to leave wouldn't you think he would announce it after we exit the finals, whenever that may be?
I think he is playing the field with no intention of leaving but rather just squeezing every cent out of us.

From an Essendon Coterie member ( my boss) the EFC board had signed off on a offer but it was politely declined.

He then said it was unlikely any club will pry Dustin out of Punt rd.

He made the comment that Ralph is trying his best for a mother deal, but the prevailing view is that Dustin wants to stay a tiger for life, loves the place.

But RCM have 3 players on their books and see how delivering a mega deal for Martin enhances his business as it tries to claim more players for his stable.

Heard from someone yesterday that North had also been given a thanks but no thanks from the Martin camp and he was staying put.

Hopefully some good news soon.

There's no doubt you need players like Dusty to win flags and I sure as hell hope he stays, however if he is holding out to get the most coin possible ( which is his right) and he ends up costing us up near the rumoured 1.5 to 1.6 a season I'm not so sure it's the best thing for the club, for one this will probaly be his best year in his career so we will be paying him at his optimum price , in saying that he'll most likley stay around the same standard the next couple of seasons, however in years 4,5 an 6 of the contract how good is he going to be ? Does he deserve to be on neally double what his Captain and Vice Captains are ? No way, again if it is true about him holding out for coin, how does that go down with the playing group ? Yes it's a business but there's going to be best 22 players moved on and how does that go down with the group ?

Hawks, Cats and Swans have won multiple premierships due to some of there best players taking less then market value and staying loyal to the club in the chase of the ultimate success . I can't judge Dusty as I have no idea what is really going on and what he will end up doing and for how much, however there's nothing good about the way this is been handled by himself and his manager for the RFC. Firstly contract were put on hold to see how EPA went, Secondly wanted to know how Club was travelling, well Dusty we are equal 3rd after 18 games, broken our club membership, most home game fan attendance , so now we are waiting till the bye week . Again I have no idea re truth of all of this , fact is media are running with all sorts of stuff now and none of it will be helping on field trust.

I just don't think there are any offers of $1.6mill over many years. Seems way too high to me. I reckon $1mill to $1.2mill will secure the deal which is in line with what the top players are getting these days.

Has anyone accepted a Brownlow with everyone knowing the player is leaving?

Might be a little uncomfortable on the team table.
