There's no doubt you need players like Dusty to win flags and I sure as hell hope he stays, however if he is holding out to get the most coin possible ( which is his right) and he ends up costing us up near the rumoured 1.5 to 1.6 a season I'm not so sure it's the best thing for the club, for one this will probaly be his best year in his career so we will be paying him at his optimum price , in saying that he'll most likley stay around the same standard the next couple of seasons, however in years 4,5 an 6 of the contract how good is he going to be ? Does he deserve to be on neally double what his Captain and Vice Captains are ? No way, again if it is true about him holding out for coin, how does that go down with the playing group ? Yes it's a business but there's going to be best 22 players moved on and how does that go down with the group ?
Hawks, Cats and Swans have won multiple premierships due to some of there best players taking less then market value and staying loyal to the club in the chase of the ultimate success . I can't judge Dusty as I have no idea what is really going on and what he will end up doing and for how much, however there's nothing good about the way this is been handled by himself and his manager for the RFC. Firstly contract were put on hold to see how EPA went, Secondly wanted to know how Club was travelling, well Dusty we are equal 3rd after 18 games, broken our club membership, most home game fan attendance , so now we are waiting till the bye week . Again I have no idea re truth of all of this , fact is media are running with all sorts of stuff now and none of it will be helping on field trust.
