Draft/Trade Strategy 2023

Admittedly didn’t look great but no worse than JUH did in his first year and he’s coming along nicely now.
Absolutely, it's a 4 year apprenticeship and most don't even see senior footy in their first year.

Very simple we need a few early picks wouldn't mind 2 picks in mid twenty to. Simple hard decisions need to be made either put a few premiership players we can replace for trade or stand still and do nothing and go backwards let's see if Blair and Livingston can earn there keep now.

Aaron Cadman in2024 trade for 2025 first rounder and a player.
We use this year draft picks to try and fill holes ,maybe get a medium tall forward ,another key back,a midfielder, but it will be all about who's still available at our picks.
Depending on were we finish next year,we keep our first rounder and get a quality player, also if there are any decent FA we can have a crack at them.
Also we can get Naish this year with a late pick, which would be a good result.
You can't give away more then 2 yrs worth of 1st rounders in a row. Tarranto last years & Hopper this year's. No go for 2024.
I rather keep it. If Lynch doesn't come back pick 4 or 5. Our 1st pick under 10 since big V @ pick 9.
It Stops clubs burning the new blokes that come in and have nothing to work with.

For those who follow the likely draft and U/18 comps, does this year's draft seem a deep one?

Campaigners jumping ship all over the place and are nominating clubs they want to go to.

The RFC has suddenly become RFC pre 2015 again.

LOLNorf, Drugs, Hawks, Saints and Kochies are all having trade requests put out to them.

Tigers .....................SFA.

I'm just getting up to speed with this year's crop but my early impressions are there's a drop off from about pick 25, a bit of a raffle and a rookie could easily outperform a mid to late second rounder. Our first selection as it stands won't guarantee an AFL quality player, I'd be handing that pick to GC for points and attempting to move up the order.

We have no coach. If you were a player, as I asked elsewhere, who would you rather play for: Clarko , Lyon, Scott or Mini?

We might have 100k members, great facilities, but no one is coming with mini as our coach. Not yet at least.

Very True General.

Hardwicks walk out has actually hurt the clubs image somewhat in my opinion, throw in the retirements of the legends and the shithouse performances this season and the RFC on its way down from its era of dominance is not going to be the most attractive proposition compared to others especially without a coach let alone losing the high profile leader in Hardwick
