Draft/Trade Strategy 2023

Ok, things becoming clearer now the Doggies have offered up two firsts for pick 4.

If Dusty wants out then I'd be pushing for pick 10, you could potentially add Prestia & Vlastuin to the package and even throw up our second rounder if it gives GC some extra points. This should be reasonably close to Watson who would be my recommendation in that range.

For the key forward, get on the blower to Todd Marshall's manager and see if he's keen, I reckon that's the best bet for a key forward.

For pace and gut running I'd look at Jordan from the Dees, he won't cost the earth.

Gresham I think is damaged goods, I think his medical history needs close examination.
Bull Marshall is contracted or think he signed.

a player with Bolton's ability only comes around once in a long while. No way trading Bolton.
Who would we rather have Richo or 3 Flags?
will Bolton lead us to another flag?

I haven't seen any extension but may have missed it.

Marshall is signed until the end of 2024. Bullus is saying we wait for our star KPF until then.

would Bolton get #1 off West Coast?

Based on recent years trades, elite players attract 2 first round picks.

If West Coast gave us 1 and 19, it would be worth considering.

Could then look at packaging 19, 25 and 44 for GC's pick 4.

Picks 1 and 4 could get us Harley Reid and Caddy.

He's elite now doubt but he's not a once in a generation. Can still go missing and hasn't necessarily shown his best in finals. If we don't think he's dispensible for the longer term good, we will be pushing *smile* up hill.

Dusty went from very good to top of the tree at the age of 25.
Shai turns 25 in December.

You don't trade players like Shai at his age, he literally could become the best player in the competition over the next 2-3 years.

Who's the knuckle head that wants to trade Bolton for a pick these useless pricks will *smile* down the drain.
The only time you trade Bolton is if he wants out...

Aaron Cadman in2024 trade for 2025 first rounder and a player.
We use this year draft picks to try and fill holes ,maybe get a medium tall forward ,another key back,a midfielder, but it will be all about who's still available at our picks.
Depending on were we finish next year,we keep our first rounder and get a quality player, also if there are any decent FA we can have a crack at them.
Also we can get Naish this year with a late pick, which would be a good result.

Its almost looking like we will get Naish with a rookie pick I think at this stage. He seems to be so far down most peoples draft rankings.

Whats the biggest knock on him? Doesn't win his own ball similar to his brother? Or something else?

Cadman is an interesting one, looked a little lost this year, I think the odds of success have dipped a little. How did you rate his first season?

Behind Hogan now as he has really had a good year.

Looks Lost a bit. Finding it harder in the seniors.

Contracted. Be hard for us.

I wouldn't take much notice of online rankings ,we do have a late pick 80 which would be a good result or Rookie which we could do if no one bids on him in the National draft.
He is a lot like Pat,but is stronger overhead ,and probably more involvement in general play,he does have good kicking so that's a advantage with the game again becoming football, not hand ball.

Always was going to be a slow burner, only just played as a key forward in his draft year, and plus he likes to roam the forward line because he has very good endurance.
I still think he's 3-4 years off really hitting his potential, perfect for the Tigers ,aim for a premiership 2026-27:)

Admittedly didn’t look great but no worse than JUH did in his first year and he’s coming along nicely now.

we won’t be using pick 80 on anyone.
