Dayle Garlett

Dayle Garlett after training with Essendon pre-season should think himself lucky that they didn't draft him.
He deserves better than a club like the Bombers. ;D

Looks like a match made in heaven just now :-X

Hearing he has put together a reasonable period of training after Xmas.

Hope he gets it together.

His actual commitment to playing and training has never really been that big an issue. He lets himself down when the strucuture that playing high level footy brings to his life is not there. That is, he train and plays well, but when there is no training and no playing, he has some bad habits.

I heard pre-draft that he had missed the odd training session, probably due to a midnight bender no doubt.

At Swan Districts?

They apprently haven't had any issues they are prepared to admit to. Although I wouldn't even suggest for one second that that approach has nothing to do with trying to get the kid drafted and get some cash.

He missed a few WAFL games through club suspensions and was also turfed out of the AIS for a lack of discipline. Swan Districts will obviously be spruiking his wares but I would take that with a grain of salt. I'm sure they'd also be defending Travis Casserly after his 2 year suspension and hailing Murray Newman as a reborn christian after his grievous bodily harm charge.

Well Bullus, looks like not getting drafted has knocked him around.

Swans not happy with his training of late, and have suggested he will start the season playing ressies footy. Apparently came back after a few weeks off in pretty average shape.

I wonder what that clown from Swans that blasted all & sundry, when Garlett wasn't drafted has to say now.

He even played the race card if I recall correctly.

Seems to be a lost cause one would think, a bit of a shame because there's no denying he's got the talent.

So he came back out if shape and Derek Kickett is mentoring him. So Kickett is moulding Garlett in his own image successfully then.

Bit harsh. Reckon Kickett would be a great mentor to a kid like Garlett. No doubt he knows exactly what the kid is going through.
