Dayle Garlett

Dont worry about him being a top 10 pick if he didnt have issues he would have been top 3 absolute gun, if he gets his *smile* together i hope some how we can get him .

I wouldn't be thinking about it until he's had 2 good seasons of hard graft in the WAFL with a good off and on field record. Make him really want it, make sure he's not just doing what he has to do to get the big bucks, which he probably is. If someone else wants to take a punt sooner, good luck to 'em.

Without ever seeing him play, he's either not as good as people make out and he's got some off field baggage clubs don't like or he is as good as people say but he's such a basket case that no one thinks he'll ever cope with what it takes to be an AFL player.

The general opinion in WA seems to be the latter Baloo, but it really isn't conclusive either way although that is the opinion I would take.

I have seen him play live a couple of times that I can think of. The first time I didn't watch him very closely and he didn't do a lot to catch the eye. To be fair though, I was more interested in how Claremont was going than Swans, and he was only just making his start in the WAFL. It was more a case of focussing elsewhere but being aware he was out there because of his surname and thinking of the other Garletts playing AFL already.

The second time I thought he did play well, and showed the sorts of signs that I think make people think he will play well at AFL level. On what I saw, he could really influence a game at WAFL level, have a real impact.

But really,

Would he be worth the punt if he is available whether it be draft or rookie is the big question his ability has never been questioned.

If he had his head screwed on hed be one of the types of player we are looking for.

Other question is who is the hot youngster that West Coast are tanking for :hihi

24 kicks,5 handballs, 13 marks, 6 inside 50's, 2.1 goals.

Would almost use a second round pick this year on him.

Defiantly would have rookied him.

He is a jet.

Lol maybe hes the one the Coasters are tanking for this year.

I wonder if Garlett will have as low appeal this coming draft.

If he pulls hiss head outt his arse he will be under the eyes of all clubs youd reckon.

The unfortunate thing is he exactly what we need ATM.

I would give up 5 players today to have him in our forward line.
DerrickΖ Newman nahas loggers & white.
He must've been the biggest f wit for no one to pick him up.
Clubs are drafting spammers like Russell petard etc and not looking at him

Another 5 goals yesterday. Is an absolute lock to be drafted unless he does something utterly stupid...again.

Wont make it past the first or second round of the ND.
Yep, this time round no one is going to want to miss out on Garlett.

rookie my butt, i said it before this kid is a star, would have gone top 5 last draft, im still cursing we didnt take him when he was over looked and training with the bummers.

There's a reason he didn't get drafted. Was lucky to even get invited over to train.

Yeah concerns were valid. I still think I would have punted on him but I understand why clubs didn't.

His own coach in WA said if he had been drafted last year he wouldn't have lasted very long in the system. Missing out altogether was the best thing for him.
