there was a story a month or so ago that Garlett wanted to move to Melbourne. who knows if that is true or not tho.

Seems like a very suss story. He wasn't well Sunday morning? But was feeling better later to meet them?TigerMasochist said:What the hell's with Garlett's head space? Article in today's Hun that Port have scrubbed him as a potential pick. Apparently Port arranged a meeting, head coach, recruiters, head psych n whatever else needed to interview then Garlett does a no show, pulled a sickie.
Any of the W.A. watchers heard anything?
Nope. Meeting had been pre arranged, Port brought all their people over to interview him while they were in Perth n Garlett pulled a sickie. Claimed to be unwell, BUT....................we're talking about a chance to resurrect a lost career. You'd think he would do everything possible to meet with Port, article claims they won't bother with him any more.tigertim said:Seems like a very suss story. He wasn't well Sunday morning? Yeah, seriously how sick are you that you cant attend a meeting that may provide the oppportunity to make an AFL career?TigerMasochist said:Nope. bullus_hit said:Would you go to a job interview for a position you didn't want? My guess is Garlett has no interest in playing in SA, I also suspect his preferred clubs have been in his ear about upholding his wild child image. Remember Griffiths and his family hid behind the couch when the Port guys came knocking, this is no different.
So he agreed to a meeting with a club he doesnt want to play with with the cunning plan of avoiding the meeting by being "sick"? Doubt it.bullus_hit said:Would you go to a job interview for a position you didn't want? I don't think by saying that you don't want to meet with a club can be construed as draft tampering. Then again, with Andy D sitting in judgement I may be wrong!bullus_hit said:Why did Griffiths hide behind a couch after organising an appointment with Port recruiters? These guys need to be careful about being accused of draft tampering, their managers would advise them to follow protocols up to a point, the rest can be passed off as being unprofessional and immature. Garlett may well be a rotten apple although they said the same about Jack Darling. Amazing how a potential number 1 pick fell to 26 and landed at the club of his choice.

tigersnake said:Reported behaviour a fair way apart between JD and DG. Darling drank some UDLs on a school camp, Garlett was a serial over-indulger and training-misser. That was reflected in the fact JD dropped a few spots, DG wasn't even rookied. Also the JD factor would have made some recruiters skeptical of DG's record you'd think, and would have assessed him for themselves
bullus_hit said:I certainly agree that they are poles apart, Garlett blew every chance that was thrown his way, he even got knocked back by the very club that has a reputation carved in dog *smile*. In saying that, if he's changed his ways and feels like he'd be better off in Perth or Melbourne then why not play the wild child card? I suspect Darling did the same to land at West Coast, any manager worth his salt could or should school his client in working the system. Clubs would also be playing the game to an extent, Frank's hiding behind trees just goes to show the lengths recruiters will go.
Richmond have knocked drafting Garlett on the head?Herr_Tiger said:Club has already knocked this one on the head
X-Factor would have some upside for us; XXX-factor or XXXX-factor isn't the go
Stick with Swan Districts, Dayle, Bassendean loves you

Unless there's a meja disinformation campaign being waged to somehow prevent other clubs from taking him, yestigertim said:Richmond have knocked drafting Garlett on the head?
