What do you think of this scenario Scooper and other watchers:
We trade our first pick and say Batch for Taylor Adams and GWS' 2nd rounder. Get Garlett with that pick.

Possible? Plausible?

Except that Batch has no currency.

It'll cost more than that for Adams. No way GWS throw in a second rounder. Maybe they do our first rounder, Jackson & Batch for Adams and a second. Maybe.

But I hate the theory of trading a dollar for four quarters. And's that we are asking GWS to do. More inclined to get Adams involved in a Conca deal to WCE.

Garlett and Adams in our side for Round 1 next year would be a huge improvement. The GWS second rounder is about the spot I see Garlett going.

Will Freo grab him with their first? Or the Weagles?

I'd be loath to lose Conca. I think he can get a lot better.

so if no WA Club are interested..you would think that would be a warning sign wouldn't it ? Local knowledge and all.. ???

Pretty sure the W.A. clubs have been doing this since they were invented, talking up the duds as early picks n slagging off the problem child. If clubs in this day and age can't figure out the reality of junior footballers then they deserve whatever they're stupid enough to get.

I read somewhere (AFL website?) that we were one of a couple of clubs looking at Garlett.

either this morning or yesterday i saw Tigers, North and 2 other clubs mentioned as being interested. Essendons name wasn't mentioned which i thought odd as they seemed the most last year. And if the word being that he has settled a little in life, a girlfriend i think and keen to live in melbourne. I would love to see us take him.

apparently Freo, Sydney, Brisbane, North and Tiges have spoken with him. He would like to live in Melbourne ....whether that means anything in the scheme of drafting.

I reckon North will be active in the draft this year, bit like Carlton, although he is not the sort of player I would have thought North require - they need a few on field leaders to mine.

Does he expect a house? if he wants to live in Melbourne why hasn't he moved there?

i'll ask him tonight if you like. wait i think he lives and plays footy in W.A. Do you have a room spare if he needs?

should of taken him last year, every club will be into him now.

He's said himself being overlooked is what really kicked him into gear this year.
