Old news. TF reported this hours ago mate on the Astbury thread funnily enough.

Was he on his own or with the whole group? Why do we need to risk our players with these types of recovery sessions? Surely there is a better way where the club can control the environment yet still get the benefits of a cold salt water treatment for the players.

Played well today with little support. Is an absolute no brainer that he comes in for Newman next week imo.

The berry as the shut the big bloke up fwd one on one releasing Chaplin, who's biggest weakness id one on one would be of massive benefit.

Not sure if we can have a backbone of the berry, Rance, Chaplin, Batch and grimes. Think Newy and either grimes or Batch need to be left out if the berry plays.

Berry and lennon in for Newy and either Batch or Grimmes!

From reports it sounds like Dave is fighting fit and after a good performance in VFL has to be a shoe-in for our defence next week. Who gets dropped? Newman is unlikely unfortunately so probably Batch although that would be a tad unfair. I just want to see how a backline of Rance, Astbury, Chaplin and Grimes hold up against the talls of he dogs next week

Can you play Both Grimes and Astbury in the same backline?

Seems like Grimes is the same size defender.
Nah Grimes would struggle to top 90kgs.

Astbury is a monster, is listed at 95kgs but even be a touch more. Big enough to play on the big boys of the comp.

One of Grimes or Batchelor is likely to miss out when Astbury assumes Chaplin's role this week.

I'm not so sure about that.

I reckon Grimes and Batchelor are playing different roles. Mark Williams, on the review mentioned that they are trying to find another running defender to assist Houli. Grimes, Batchelor and Vlaustin are the guys to help out Houli, it was noticeable how much more these guys were pushing forward on Thursday night.

If Astbury returns, it could be at Newmans expense, with guys like Ellis and McIntosh rolling to half back when our small defenders need a spell.
