David Astbury, Thank You

With all the chatter on here about Griffiths being looked at by other clubs, I reckon there's a fair chance that other clubs would be interested to see how Astbury goes in his first game back from injury.

He is still young and has taken some good scalps this year.

Had some very good form before his injury.

Sounds like he's reached a stage in his rehab where his medicos and fitness people reckon the best thing for him is to have a run about in a game.

Why Bother? We need all hands on deck for the finals. Could be a handy match up for Tippet in the GF. ;)

I am surprised to read that Dave is ready for VFL so soon after such a serious injury. Great recuperation! I didn't think he would be this close to a return so it will be good to see how he goes in a half of VFL. Still think it is probably better for him to wait and go into the preseason fit

It's no real surprise. It would only take long, like last time, if there was structural damage such as the tendon pulling away a part of the kneecap (happened tho me). Some players have been lucky enough to slide it back into place and keep going, or miss a few weeks while the swelling goes down. Dave's first injury was a bit more complicated unfortunately.

Noticed in the paper today that he is the only injured Tiger on our list, obviously our medical staff are kicking goals too.

Yes too right Virtue man.

Hoping all our medicos are signed up and well paid.

I reckon Eddy McEverywhere McChins will be cashed up and looking to poach after the glut of Carringbush soft tissue injuries!!!

In The Age it says Tigers injury list is not available and no update on the Tiger website since August 11th so can't confirm, but I think Knights was only quad tightness, nothing major

Great to see the big bloke back..

Some take time from injuries and other come back very quickly..

Lets see how Dave goes, good luck to the big fella

Good news as well if true.

Our injury list has been the best for a few years now. Must be doing something right.
