David Astbury, Thank You

He actually did. *smile* Grigg off already.
I thought exactly the same thing when i saw it happen.......bloody Grigg falling on his ars* caused this.

Just when we were starting to see the real Astbury and loving his attitude a tragic accident happens. It is pointless blaming anyone else for it like so many posters.
If poor Dave didn't have bad luck he would have no luck at all. I just hope he comes back again but fear he may call it quits

The club's been sluggish publicising a prognosis on Dave, still TBC on the injury list. Anyone heard what his ETA might be? Very important long term IMO.

I would give another 2 years. Get him fitter and stronger
No need rushing him back

Agree Zipper. He was looking fantastic pre injury. Here's hoping he comes back from it.

Not too many players genuinely "come of age" after a long layoff. Usually we would be left wondering will the guy ever come back and do we really care (other than for the player's welfare). This time we really do.

Starting to remember the bad luck Cogs had with his injuries in relation to Dave and the goodwill towards him. It took Dave the best part of a season to get back last time, hopefully the 2nd time round will be better.

Still remember that year Cogs got 16 Brownlow votes in a poor Tiger side and thought the next few years we were going to see him go close to winning one.

Just read on RFC website that Dave Astbury reckons he is progressing well and hopes to be back playing AFL this season. He was really showing his worth up to the injury and we miss him in defence. I want to see him back but then again I don't want the club to risk him and damage his knee irreparably. The club has history playing injured or not fully recovered players so hope he is not rushed back until he is 100%

If we were pushing for finals i could understand but we're not so dont bother!

Astbury on crutches would offer more run and carry that most of our current bludgers. I'm surprised Dimma hasn't used his injury absence as an excuse for our losses.

This smacks of the tried and true Richmond tactic of rushing players back who have serious injuries and playing players who are hurt.

Put him in cotton wool and have him ready and primed after a full preseason for 2015.

If he's fit and ready to go I don't see why we wouldn't play him. He needs as much continuity and experience in his role as possible.

Been the biggest riser IMHO an as silly as it sounds , even thou his made his mark as FB I wonder if he could actually make our 2nd tall forward , other then Jack the rest have given us Jack
