David Astbury, Thank You

Yep hope he recovers well. Having said that I just hope that moron Dan Richardson doesn't extend his contract by another 3 years.

Said on the news he is out indefinitely.
I'm guessing that means season over :(

Had scans today.

He said he's having surgery. Not too sure what that means in terms of weeks out.

Probably season over. I hope he doesn't lose his pace. We may need to plan for a successor.

Yeah saw that too.

Let's see what is said tomorrow . Disappointed for Dave , just when he looked to be finding his feet, confidence and role in the side.

Goodluck and hope the prognosis isn't as bad as previous knee injury.

He doesn't have a history of healing quickly. I fear this might be one too many injuries for Dave. He must be gutted.

It reflects our season well. The only player who showed steady improvement gets a potentially career rending injury.

Burn that bloody tiger skin

Doc Larkins just said it all depends on scans and best case scenario is to rehabilitate the knee and out 6-8 weeks. Let's hope it's that. This bloke's been out for too long early in his career and it would be shattering to retire from AFL now.

I'm pretty sure he was set to miss 10 weeks when he did the other knee, but after a few complications missed 12 months. Hopefully this one goes better. It may as well be season over as even if the knee is right, his fitness would be gone. I just really hope he is ready for a full pre season.

Disaster losing Assa with a knee injury. Kid has been excellent all year so far, would just be starting to believe the last two years of rehab n struggle were finally paying off.
Not sure how serious or how long the knee is going to keep him out, but seeing as this year is simply shot already I'd hope that the club errs on the side of caution. Just wrap him in cotton wool n prepare him for round one next year if possible, no crazy rush to get him back for a late flurry at the end of this year.

We will need him for the finals...

agree rest him for this year - Get him re-signed and fix the knee.
Long Term Injury and hello Anthony Miles

King on the lti already. Hello miles and darrou if astbury is put on.

Going by his twitter, it looks like an operation needs to be done. If he's signed for next season, let's hope he can hold his confidence and re-capture his 2014 form.

Bugger. I was hoping he may be able to avoid surgery. It took him a good 2 years to get his game back after the original dislocation.

Did he look at him zips? That'll do it :rofl

It's okay, my Carlton flatmate still blames Grigg for everything that went wrong at Carlton before he left :hihi

Grigg falling over and losing the ball caused it
