David Astbury, Thank You

Yes and we have a problem in that both Astbury and Griff are out of contract!!!
However other players will be delisted or retire and that frees up spots and cap room for players like Astbury and Griffo.

After the bye he has a huge game that could determine the outcome.

I saw highlights if the Dees vs Adelaide game and saw a player by the name of Dawes really play as well as I've seen him since he was at Collingwood in their premiership year combining with Cloke. Dawes really gave Melbourne a target and he played like a man poccessed. Since he has come back he has given them a target, structure and they have won 2 from 3.

Dawes will be a handful for him if Dawes brings that same intensity to the game. Brown has been the only player to have touched up Astbury this year.

I hope he and the coaches watch a lot of footage of the game as this matchup could go a long way to deciding who wins the game.

Assa has been a revelation this year. Saw his couple of games at the end of last year n thought he was just about cooked, was slow n bloody cumbersome.

X2. I thought he was gone, and I even said this late last year about him.

What do we think about Dave?

For mine I just can't see him making it. Okay mark and an okay kick. However he doesn't possess enough speed or mobility. He's not very strong but thats something that can be improved.

For mine he's a trade or delist.

I'm enjoying the pie at the moment. He's still not quick and doesn't have heaps of mobility, but then again, neither did Ben Rutten and he carved out a good career.

David is taking good quality scalps this year, and winning heaps of his one on ones. If he can improve his strength it's only going to make him even better in one on one situations.

Really enjoying his improvement this year. Good stuff Dave.

Good year so far, a little overrated on this site, typical rfc player that starts to play well at end of contract..6 good games doesn't make a career.....still need strong defenders that clunk marks ..

Rafa Nadal called. Wants you to give him some tips on his backhand.

Thats refereshing TT. smearing humble pie in your own face. Classy :clap

Has only lost 7 '1 on 1' contests all year and had 12 goals kicked on him all year by his direct opponent. Has been phenomenal.

Who would have thought it could actually get worse! That could be his career right there.

How the *smile* does this always happen when a team loses badly???

I heard dislocation so I'll assume it's not season over for him?

Given our season is over, let him take the rest of the year off if he needs it and bring him back slowly.

Shattered for him. Caps off a horrible day. Deserves a fair run at it so very disappointing.

Fingers crossed it's not as bad as we think

Same here. Doc Larkins says dislocated patella = 6 - 8 weeks, so hopefully he comes back through the 2nds and into next pre-season.
