Amazing what a good pre-season and a continued run in the 1sts have done for him. Full of confidence in his own ability and his positioning around the ground is not too shabby either. No worried about a contest either so cements his place in our best. Improving every game and rightfully gets the plaudits.
Coming along nicely is Dave. Needs to make full back and own it like Scarlett and Glass et al. Allows Rance and Grimes some freedom to play on lesser players. Good for the team all over.
It's amazing what confidence and a decent run with injury will do. Finally a defender being developed at the club. Many could not see the hype and giving him number 12. Good luck Dave. Hope we don't jinx you.
Finally we have someone who can play on the monster forwards. I don't think I have noticed such competitiveness in him before, which has been a very pleasant surprise.
He started today to finally attack the game when he had the footy, which is the next step for him.
I agree - from a defensive perspective, would have to be AA KPD. A few things will hold him back though. First, his offensice ability, he's not flashy enough. Second, He's never been nominated before. Third, the deal breaker, he plays for Richmond.
He was a good 2nd round pick. He now wins most of his 1 on 1's and gives Rance plenty of freedom in return. If Ben Lennon slots down there then the back line doesn't look all that bad for future.
He also kept Waite completely quiet in the 1st half against the Blues - I almost didn't think he was out there. Like his skills to - has a good left foot and is confident to use it if he has to.
Assa has been a revelation this year. Saw his couple of games at the end of last year n thought he was just about cooked, was slow n bloody cumbersome.
The only player to get the drop on him this year has been the Big Brown Dog from Brisvegas. Assa has comfortably owned his opponent every other game. Assa and the Griffinator are two of very few positives so far this year.
