David Astbury, Thank You

Showed it when he first started and has proven to be a good kid and a very reliable footballer.
Good on him

Just playing each contest on its merits. Add Roughead to some pretty good scalps. It's not like there wasn't enough supply for Roughy to clunk a few.

The biggest improver of 2014.

He and Griffiths are about the only bright spots of the year so far. Great to see us actually developing some tall timber.

Was thinking the same, Astbury and Griff have moved up a cog this season. Good to see.

Makes me wonder why other up and comers such as Martin have stagnated or in some games gone backwards.

That was an impressive chase of Hill for a big man in the third quarter. I thought he was meant to be slow!
He's big enough to hold his ground but not so bulky he has lost speed. I think that was his biggest knock against him early days, but it doesn't seem to be an issue.

Well done Dave and I hope he gets a full season under his belt without any Injury.

The evolution of Astbury as a good key position defender has been one of the few bright spots in a season where Richmond as a whole seems to be determined to go backwards at a rate of knots.

One of the few bright spots this season. Unlike Thomas (who for some reason was feted for this), Swooper could actually be very close to leading our BnF.

Yes it was a grat chase, on that effort you can't question his closing speed, he might be a just a little slow off the mark. So pleasing to see him fit and playing good footy, can see why he was given Richo's number.
