David Astbury, Thank You

Yep, one on one body work was a real and pleasant surprise - kept Cloke from getting any re-new confidence, ensuring his own can rise accordingly. It was treat to watch.

As I've stated before, I'm a huge fan of Dave's. Been just about the highlight of our season so far.

not enough love for astbury. thought he was great. chaplin to make way for rance on current form. need rances run out of the backline to get some urgency into our game.

Spot on, Haddy.

Just one more thing on Ass-burgers. When I said earlier that his disposal is Deledio like I don't think I mentioned what I mean by that. If you can use you don't necessarily send the ball to where the player is, you send it to the space he should be in. Astbury has done this since day one. Footballer.

See minute one of the Collingwood game.

good point. A clear indication the player is thinking a few seconds ahead, which you cant teach.

Dave is almost = biggest + with The Grifter for me. Of course, this could all change on almost good friday with Beanie and Passionfruit Icing to debut.

Dave got 2 votes from the coaches against the Pies. The only Tiger to get any.

yes and yes. love the smokey peaty flavour with my morning coffee. A heart starter.

take a peek at my signature for the passionfruit icing recipe. You know how a fluffy sponge is good, but a fluffy sponge with passionfruit icing is great?

Yes, yes it is. A heartstarter that is.

And thanks for the recipe. Clears it up for me a bit. :rofl

Liking his defensive work, my only criticism is his where he kicks it.

Very predictable, always the safe little chip backwards. Like to see him be a bit more offensive and occasionally kick it forwards, but I imagine that will come in time with confidence.

We have quite a few who only do the dinky chip kick (which sometimes smacks of "I don't wanna be the one who kicks it longer and turns it over") in Chappy, Grigg, Petterd.

I think the "I don't want to make a mistake" disease has spread to most of our players

Sorry if this was mentioned earlier but heard Finey on SEN last night talking about his regular catch ups with Ross Smith. RS told him that Dave has been in 22 one on one contests, and hasn't lost one..far and beyond the best in the AFL thus far.
I remember speaking with Benny G a few years back and although he was unsure of his best position he and the club in general were a big wrap for him, mainly from a quality of person stand point. In short Benny felt that he had drive to work hard and learn what was required to be a good AFL player...it took 5 years but key back on the monsters seems to be his spot. Also noticed that whilst he still a bit slow he agility has improved, and Cloke wasn't able to get away from him.

Got a decent pantsing from Old Man Brown but it was cheap experience given the result. Must persist.

Stuck to his man....a champion player.

Brown may have kicked a few but reckon he had a good game. Noticed Grimes aint exactly helping out like he did before he did his hammy. Someone, anyone leaving their man to help would be good.

A couple of Brown's goals were a result from a quick centre break and kick right down his throat. Not much any defender could have done against the big fella those times.

Jason Cloke flogged the *smile* out of a young Jon Brown just by playing in front of him. J. Brown takes chest marks. Ass-burgers played him from behind.

Jerriatric Brown took a lotta chest marks.

Ass-buurgers played him badly. Maybe he got bad advice. To stretch him. He got stretched.
