David Astbury, Thank You

Hope this puts an end to people questioning Dave's ability. Top effort in the face of pressure free ball coming in

He's should be the first defender picked, Chaplin out when Rance is fit for mine.

I think the jury is still out on him, but give credit where its due, DA played a very good game.

WTF do you want from him? You're right, he should have kept Cloke to 0 goals whilst also blanketing pendlebury.

Agree. Its probably his best game ever. Didn't make too many mistakes. Jury still out until he is consistent cos Crameri ripped him a good one last week.

Played a great game. Didn't appear to get any help like Frost did tonight with Jack. Well done keep up the great work.

At least he competed which is more than can be said for many others. Chaplin was awful for an experienced player and Grimes has gone backwards - a shadow of what he was - Thursfield reincarnated.

Well, for at least one more week.

One of the few highlights for us tonight.

Ruined clockes 200th game

0 goals :hihi

Would hardly say Cloke's night ruined. They did win the game, sure he'd be happy about that. Well done Da be though did win that battle on the night.

Credit were it is due, happy to eat my Hat, happy to be wrong about David, if he can stop Cloke, he has defended well.

Was a great effort, no support down there. Chaplin or Grimes must go wheb Rance returns.

This scares the cr@p outta me. Still - he's an absolute beginner in terms of games played.

Good game by Dave by the way.

Brilliant show case of full back play all night.
The kid is looking fit and strong.
*smile* of the hacks around him and we might have a good defence

Thank you, zips. Ass-burgers was, in his 35th game, awesome.

Grimes should go when Rance comes back. Swooper has earned an extended run in the 1s.
Dave is now our best defender for the talls. Rance takes the more mobile types. Grimes and Chaplin for the third tall. I'd takes Grimes on present form. Dave is as safe as houses.

I was quietly impressed by Astbury's effort tonight at the G.
He competed when it was his turn to go and deserves to be given a clear shot at cementing his place over the next six or so rounds.
At the moment, and this is an indictment on the Tigers given his dearth of experience, Astbury is the best Tiger defender on the ground.
