David Astbury, Thank You

Tremendous game Ash
You covered for three blokes tonight
Legendary effort
More kids please and Damian will get anther two year extension :spin

Finally a big guy who can handle power forwards.

Astbury on Crameri was never an ideal match. Rance would've been it.

Crameri is pace reliant. So set the young man to chase and learn. It's just a shame we lost the game, mad. Ouch.

He was good last night ... It helped that cloke's confidence was down, but was still good. A handy scalp for his confidence.

This will go against the grain, but I'd prefer DA to play deep forward - especially when Rance returns. IMO we can't play both Chaplin and David in the back line.

Essendon turned Lucas from CHB to CHF rather successfully. Perhaps there is something in Dave that can do similarly.....

not enough love for astbury. thought he was great. chaplin to make way for rance on current form. need rances run out of the backline to get some urgency into our game.

We've missed his run. Agree Chaplin should make way. He's been next to useless this year.

Missing Rance is big part of our poor use coming out of half back, not because he has silky skills, because he works hard to provide a switch option. Our switch is *smile* without him there.

After listening to Duck Carey for 15 years he finally made his maiden good comment
" astbury was great on Friday night"

Well done Astbury.

Really played well on Cloke. I think played within the rules and i dont know what Buckley was sooking about lack of frees for Cloke in the game, Cloke played poorly simple as that. No credit given to Astbury's game yet lauded the tactics and game of his own player Mccaffer on Cotchin.

Never liked him as a player and certaintly dont like him as coach.

Nice work :clap

Did plenty of shepherding in marking contests and gave away no free's to Astbury. Just got beat like he stole something.

Sensational game David really put his hand up
Starting to prove his knockers wrong
Great to see him fully fit and on the park full time

Good to hear. Keep it up Davo. Slowly but surely.

very good one on one. perhaps lacks a yard of pace, but makes up for it with his body positioning and reading the flight.

Very pleased to see that he his quietening my initial doubts.
Certainly the team's leading backman at this point in time.
