David Astbury, Thank You

Must have been some poster on the Andrew Krakoeur thread referring to him as "c r apper" and the filter changed it back.

Who would say such a thing.

Still a bit slow but definitely a more assured performance overall. Stood up in defence today along with Rance. Getting better with game time but just needs to get a bit of speed back.

yeah, I reckon he's a plodder, seems to think too much when he gets the ball.

Hope he proves me wrong!

Astbury was OK today.
He is slow and his lack of second or follow-up efforts is disappointing.
I wouldn't have any problem with putting him on the trade table.

glad to put him on the trade table, not really sure we would get much in return? Maybe a can of Coke and a packet of Twisties.

Very slow and with Grimes being the 3rd tall, we don't need him in our line-up.

Mobility has improved in the last month but is still a weakness. He is unable to press up to a ball carrier because they will walk around him which leaves him waving his arms without being able to apply real pressure on the disposal.

I would keep him on the list, he is 23 a better option that Griff and has had a bad rund with injuries. Astbury's first year was better than any of Darren Glass's first five years when he was hated by all eagles fans who could draw breath until he was 24.

Is his current speed and mobility injury/fitness related or is this as good as it gets? Watched him get spanked by Warnock when the ball hit the deck - couldn't get back on to him to impede, slow or tackle. Not good, or rather not good enough for AFL.

If this is all he's got then I don't really understand why we are pumping games into him.

Not all that surprised to see Dave out.

What's gone wrong with this kid. 3 years ago he was the only kid that was star bound.
They even gave him the number 12 jumper.

A shattered knee has severely restricted him. Not sure people realise just how bad that particular injury was.
