David Astbury, Thank You

GO my man Dave! It is one of those half chances I hope he takes.

Either way, well done on coming back from injury. Like it did with Foley the game takes a few weeks to adjust to, so just a soid game is what I'm looking for.

An excellent sentiment, ghost.

I think astbury gets slightly overlooked on here. He's still the same guy who can clunk, kick neatly and keep a superbly level head.

In other words, he's ahead of griff at the moment and rightly so.

I think he'll make it. Today is the perfect time to remind us just how solid a prospect he is.

Interested to hear people's comments who were there or watched the game how did Dave go?

How did you rate his game out of 10.

Thanks

I'm a fan of Dave.

3-10
Defenders these days need to have some leg speed, he doesn't,
Defenders these days need to out mark there opponent, he doesn't .
Overall average return to the seniors, but wasn't expecting much

I was worried actually before the game as they had a fairly short forward line but he came in and generally held his own. My only issue is that he lacks pace down back. Overall a pass for him in this game. I like him but I would like him forward then back.

Played well for his 4th game in 2 years or something. Held his own and didn't really stuff anything up. Neat disposal and decent agility. He's a keeper IMO

Really like Dave.

Lack of pace however is a worry.

He's no slower than Jack. Give him a clear run without injury and watch it improve

I thought we started to struggle down back when he was subbed off.

That's how I saw it.

Yer, I like Dave Spook, think he could really be a asset for the tiges in the right postion. Dont let us do a Post on him for gods sake.

He's a better footballer than Post. Pace and mobility are the only things that could stop him becoming a good player IMO, and hopefully they will improve. Good head on his shoulders.

Can't see him ever being more than depth. Whenever you saw him running to a loose ball opposed to an Adelaide player you hold your breath because he's slow.

Geez the last two years have been unkind for him, but he looked as slow as a stegasauraus..

Thought Astbury was fine today. Wasn't involved a huge amount, but did most things competently. Would be nice to see him get a few more games, today was a tough one to come back into with th wet conditions. He took a bit of a knock a few minute before he was subbed which may have contributed to it.

Good solid game. Thought he did well. Need to find the right match up for him. Considering how far he is coming back from I thought it was a fair return. Its a big step up from the two's. I would keep him in for next weeks game against the dogs and give him a run of 2-3 games to see if he can lift.

Don't give no one free games, if bachelor is fit he comes straight back in.
