David Astbury, Thank You

My guess is Astbury will be emrgency. Batch hasn't been that bad. Our defence is all that held us from a thrashing last weekend.

Eagles have a very tall forward line. I think Astbury's height should get him the nod.

Not much different to Essendon and they have the most dangerous forward of them all, Lecras. I'd still prefer to see astbury play forward.

Looked composed on the weekend, but slow as treacle.

Worth a try, but. Hope he goes well.

This is the major worry with both Astbury and Batch, they're both a little slow.

Agree he looks slow, though I'd like to see what his pace is like after a year or two uninterrupted by injury.

Fingers crossed he goes alright on Monday if selected. I really like the boy and have seen him as part of our long term future for some time.

I think we're worried about their height and Astbury may get a gig only becoz he is the most AFL ready tall we've got at the moment at Coburg.

He could actually keep Azza out and play tall fodder at either end. More likely Dea will miss though which is a pity as he has been in excellent form at Coburg.

I like Batch but I'm happy to see Dave get a run. I think he's a forgotten man around here. Potentially the tall swingman that's coming back into vogue

Agree. Astbury could be the surprise packet of the second half of the year.

Is a sore calf the new Essendon flu or general soreness? If Astbury gets in I hope he has a good game and an extended run of games.

I will be interested into seeing how he goes. I rate Astbury as a very smart footballer.

Is the change confirmed? He'll probably play on McKernan if he comes in. Won't be exploited for pace there.
