David Astbury, Thank You

I wondered what made Rance front up like that so I checked as well and you ae spot on. Just glad we have some in our playing group that don't turn the other cheek

Been bullied for too long. I don't care if there are a couple of suspensions, this stuff needs to continue.

If someone had said to me that after half time, Steve J was going to be jumping at shadows, Toby Greene was going to be sooking in a corner, Mumford was going to wonder why Cotchin kept getting up and winning the ball after his big sniper hits and Heat Shaw was going to shut up and stay out of the way, I would have laughed.

Yet here we are, Johnson was sat on his bum, Greene disappeared, Mumford looked confused and Shaw did nothing.

Great stuff, Tigers.

Loved the fact Astbury went after Greene. You can see him in the vision yelling out "hey Toby.. Toby". He wanted to make it clear he took exception. About time we saw a tiger unit who genuinely give a stuff about each other and have a bit of mongrel. Loving Astburys season btw.

He is from Maryborough. Makes Ballarat look posh.

The second part is true. But Dave isn't from Maryborough. Tatyoon south of Ararat. Blink and you'll miss it.

terrible year, horrible..... :p last time I pumped him up he got injured :)

shhhhhhhhhhhh just let him keep doing what hes doing.. pump up Hunt or Morris instead.

Great article on Dave in the hun today.

4th in the afl for marks by defenders
4th in the afl for intercept marks
4th in the afl for intercept possessions
3rd in the afl for defensive one on one contests, winning 80%

Showed enough potential when fit that he might make it ,

Similar to grimes really , in that , the biggest concern was , would he ever get to the required fitness level

He's certainly making it easy for Tross to zone off and take all those intercepts.
All that talk all those years ago about wanting a defender that can take on the gorillas, well guess what.
Actually there aren't that many gorillas left in the game but Dave has now taken over standing in the heart of the defence, commanding his ground and letting all the other backs run off around him.
Very, very safe pair of hands and yet he still doesn't get the respect he deserves.
I hadn't seen his quick hands under pressure until today either.
