David Astbury, Thank You

I don't like the idea of Astbury going forward at this point, backline is playing as well as it has for sometime at this point an Astbury is crucial to that unit, plus I'm not overly convinced he'd make a good forward , it's only been theory as his never done anything to amazing as a key forward at any level.

That's right, back line is very settled and we need all the talls down back we can get. This is not the week to be experimenting with backline structure changes.

Given Eltons omission it's pretty clear Dave will line up at CHF.
I like this move.

Yeah looks that way. And looks like morris is in for betts. Rance to tex, grimes to jenkins, morris to betts. What about lynch?

Not sure I agree with this. Probably the team we need astbury back most is adelaide

Good move against almost any other team. If Rance gets Tex, maybe Grimes gets Jenkins, would leave McIntosh on Lynch/Otten..thats ok if only one of Lynch/Otten plays forward.

Maybe we expect Jenkins not to play?

You'd expect so wouldn't you briz

We've been the best defensive team this year and Adelaide has been the best offensive team. Definitely not the game to rip Astbury out of the back line. I don't think we will. I think we're playing to limit the damage and hope we can win on the rebound.

McIntosh won't play back as he is better as a free running midfielder not minding a big forward as he is easily outpositioned in the backplane.

Continues to improve, last night was the most composed i've seen him with ball in hand.

And a couple of times surprisingly quick. Found some pace somewhere.

He's our strongest mark but when he does, time stands still. We need to get one of our few playmakers to run past him for the handball to speed up our transition out of defence.

i like him and works very well in backline!
just wish hardwick can work outside square and at times float him down foreward.

Along with Rance he was a wall in the back line until the dam eventually burst. Having a great year.

Deserves to make the 40 man All Australian squad ToO.

Add Grimes to that without these 3 we would be in a very difficult position IMO
