David Astbury, Thank You

Sack him if we have him on the list next year it will be a sign things are still grim out the door that's being dam nice

My analysis suggests dave is the least competent footballer in our current 'best 22'.

Dave's form was on the up until last Sunday and he like the majority of the team took a giant step backwards so hammering him for an admittedly bad game but letting others off Scot free is wrong. Assuming he is not made a scapegoat by Dimma for a shocking team performance then hopefully he may be back to his improving ways.
We shall see

Not a bad game, would have felt like a midfielder player in our back half today, great seeing him going for his marks , problem is if they hit the deck his in a bit of trouble, doing ok Though

Although Astbury has been around for a number of seasons now I am yet to be convinced that he is the solution down back. If he was traded I wouldn't be disappointed.

beware blokes who play ok against *smile* sides. Like Kane Mitchell.

especially when it takes 3 seconds for signals to get from brain to foot

If he was tradable I would be amazed.

Astbury has a good pair of hands and fairly reliable when taking marks and thanks to Rance his positioning around the ground is improving. All he wants now is to get the channel between his hands/feet and brain fixed then who knows how good he can become

Reckon the *smile*'s had a fairly decent season this year, he's coming from a long way back due to missing so much footy from his knee injuries. He's got the size n marking capability to be the physical anchor down back that allows Tross to cover ground n create rebound.
As long as he gets some injury free consistency and the confidence that comes from playing each week he should be a fairly decent key back for us.

Good mark and decent reader of the play, slow, and he still has those shocking kicks which lead to direct turnover goals, im nervous every time its in his hands!

How was that jaw-dropping moment when he took possession at FB and just dropped it/ had it easily stripped without being tackled? geez.

I dont mind Astbury. Sure he isnt perfect, but we have far more glaring issues than him imo. Need a young tall defender to push through though.

Solid again yesterday, hands have been very good of late, probally in career best form, just wish he could go with first option more often

Slow as dog *smile*. Couldn't stand up in the last qtr to help Rance. He wasn't playing on Carey, he was on the fat prick Hawkins
He isn't the answer
