David Astbury, Thank You

That's my view, Harry. We need to trade into drafts to add to it IMO.

I believe that neither Miles nor Grimes is a premiership player. Sure, they can take us to seventh.

I hate our structure too. Particularly. I hate it more than I hate Geelong's. Running backs that can't kick. Small mids that can't run.

I can understand how it got that way but it has to change.
I agree but at the moment these two are ahead of a lot of others at the club. If we traded these two along with our plodders the cupboard would be looking pretty bare.

I'm in the Rebuild school, C_4. I'm ok with that. We can fill it better.

Agree to disagree on Miles and Grimes. Easily premiership players imo. A graders.

Can I also point out that not all premiership players have to be A graders... Hawks don't have a team full of A graders... It is a common misconception among fans. Mitch Morton was part of Sydneys premiership team, was he an A grader?

Matthew Suckling played in 2 of the Hawks premiership teams and he was one of their whipping boys before he went to the dogs.

As for Astbury, if Chappy has retired one year ago I would have said we were screwed. But his continued improvement this year makes it more of a relief that we are a Key defender down. Although I would love to get someone like HUrley, I would be happy to keep Astbury as long as he keeps improving..

Not his best game today but I don't think he matches up well against the Hawks as they don't bomb it in long that often
I don't think he matches up well on anyone who can run 100 in less than 20 seconds

He is unbelievably bad. He is No better then Thursfield and McGuane.
He needs to go. If we can't trade him. Rubbish bin.

Not a fan of Astbury, but the kid was a CHF when we drafted him. CHB is not his instinctive or natural position.
Classic case of forcibly trying to make him fit into a position he's clearly not good enough for.
If we had Eddie Betts playing for the club, I've no doubt he'd be a back pocket player.

he just takes a half a second too long to dispose.

you get way with that in the VFL.

those neurological pathways are not going to speed up.

Try him forward in the last 5 games. And if that dosent cut it. *smile* him off
Another 2rd rounder down the drain

I can be as harsh as anyone, but seriously the guy has played bugger all football over the last few years an is really only getting a good go at it ths season. Give him a break.. similar to Conca's interrupted career. Have a look at his stats.
