David Astbury, Thank You

Loved the vomit in the 3rd or was it the last. Badge of honour for the big fella. Perhaps the biggest and most pleasant surprise of the night. Great all-round defensive game. Marking was elite. Just wonder what will happen if Dave, Grimey and Alex can string some games together……..?

His work in the air is genuinely fantastic & he's one of the best marks in the club. That said I genuinely dislike the way he uses the ball.
Slow decision maker for a smart guy. Our footy is stagnant in the back half when Dave plays.

Has earned another contract as our second key defence. His marking for mine is a highlight. I think when we surround him with Yarren, Houli and Corey Ellis he should look better as he will have more running options.

I'd like to think that with Mrakov, Short and Menadue floating around him , that they'll be smart enough to start getting the quick dish and we can start using his marking as more of a weapon.

Be interesting his match ups the next 3 weeks

I am hater but I thought he has improved over the last couple of weeks. Saw some good signs last week regarding ball movement but didnt see the same urgency this week.

Along with Griff probably our best mark, but his lack of pace and general moblity remain weaknesses. I still worry every time he has the ball in hand that he's going to turn it over.

Good again, takes a very good grab. He was a bit slow moving the ball but I was more worried about Rance and Grimes with the ball yesterday than Dave.

He breaks lines now. Wow. That's a recent development. And he uses the ball quickly and forward now. He's a massive improver.

The last 2 weeks has taken some strong marks & now I'm sort of starting to get confident when the ball is heading his way in a 1 on 1 situation

Full forward please.
Might almost be right Harry, straight ahead tram tracks marking forward is about all we'd get though. Not fast or agile enough to add any defensive input, could break some packs for the crumbers though.
Happy enough for him to anchor as the strong structure marking defender backing up the Tross. With a clean slate injury wise to start next year, there's more than enough mobile creators to run off n give Assa creative options.

Yeah, I'm genuinely in shock. Looks like a AFL player. Still awfully slow on the lead and not mobile but he reads the game well. Gorilla only match up.

but I've moved him into the core portion of the list. No star but can fill a role.
