David Astbury, Thank You

Annoying that his first option is to always go sideways.
But was very strong and held his own tonight

Have said before. Guy is probably one of our best marks. Should be playing up forward. Still too slow with his decision making down back which is costly.
Who's the other key back to play with Rance ?

Best they throw the kitchen sink at Hurley. Astbury is too much of a liability down back. Doggies lack any height in their fwd line so that suited him. Against stronger fwd lines will struggle. Is a fantastic mark so could easily play as a deep forward. Would swap him and Griffiths. Give Griff the rest of the year in the backling and see how he goes.

I HATE Astbury - but damn - tonight he took some really strong marks - and there is a 'whiff' that he might have some upside.

Others should go long before him (based on last few weeks)

Best game I've seen him play.

Genuinely shocked at how effective he was.

He spoke 3AW after the game and said he is doing a lot of with Truck Rutten in regards to being more offensive not just a stopper. Cudos for tonight was good

He's going on with it. Assburgers ackshelly can play. Surprise to us all.

Surprising based on the last 18 months of form, but he had definitely shown ability before tonight.

He took some nice marks but he was playing on the Oompa Loompas all night.
His turn over in the first qtr is him in a nut shell. Gets it ok but butchers it more then often.

Surprise is always good. Except for the other times. ;D

How about giving someone credit when it's due. He was very very good tonight, I actually thought he was our best player.

See if you can get over your preconceived bias and watch the game properly.

Always been a fan. Now to de program the stop prop backwards out of him. Also think he could be a better forward. A better version of Schulz.

Probably one of his biggest critics but that was the best game he has played. Apart from that one turnover in the first quarter he was excellent thereafter. He took contested marks, attacked the footy and the most pleasing part he was more offensive with his disposals.

On the way home from the game I heard his interview on 3AW. Interestingly he admitted he was playing a very stagnant game and was reluctant to take the game on. He has worked hard with Rutten to turn this around.

He is *smile*. Not the answer, slow as dogs balls.
Besides taking some marks. What did he do that was so "very very good"
Stop being so one eyed. Try opening both of them when watching the games.

I can't take this post seriously.
