Correct Mr Zip

Alternatively, Collingwood must take a hypnotist to meetings with players and other clubs.

Treloar, Aish and Howe is a booty that have us talking Top 4 lock next year. If they can basically swap Ben Kennedy for Jeremy Howe it is daylight robbery. Kennedy is the second coming of Ben Moore

Collingwood players seem to fetch good picks. Seedsman pick 35 (delist material) Kennedy lucky to hit a target by foot and freeman HASNT played ONE game and they're chasing him.
How they got AIsh Howe & Treloar to all go is unbelievable.
Howe would've been a Knights replacement. I reckon he will be the best from the 3. The 3rd or 4th best defender. Jumping on their heads and his kicking is very good.
Better player then Pettard, but where again looking at GWS reserves

What point system? We haven't got a academy

see below quote from one member.

The Age reporting that the Lions have cooled on Dave. I wonder if we are talking to them about swapping picks for Pick 21 as a contingency. Pick 21 is 878 points, Picks 31 and 52 are 852 points. Probably need to grease the wheels, maybe with a spare late round pick so they have extra picks for their other academy picks outside of Keays and Hipwood.

how do these points work and what are they entitled to?

Sorry mate, they're for them. They need to get a certain amount points through draft picks. So they can pick up their academy kids.
1000 points judd quality
10 points Grigg quality
Etc

He’s going. The club just wants to find a deal.

Still may go to Carlton as part of the Yarran deal.

Each pick in the draft is assigned a number so each pick regardless of how deep the draft actually is is worth the same. Therefore teams that have academy / father son picks a lower pick can be worth more to them than higher picks as they aren't really picking up a player at that level.

The Carlisle trade is probably a good one to use. Broadly the Hawks deal of 15 and 18 is worth about Pick 4 but IMO the Bongers would still prefer St Kildas offer IF they only gave them Pick 5.

Picks 31 and 51 are broadly worth the same as Pick 21 and Briabane shouldn't really care which they have as they can use either or for getting their academy picks which will be bid on before Pick 21. The problem is they would have to do us a favour which I'm not sure if many clubs would follow so we need to sweeten the deal to get it done. Could be done but need to get it into their interests.

They will likely need somewhere around 2000-2200 points to get Keays and Hipwood so they need to be left with a minimum of that after all of their trades. Then depends on whether they want any of their other academy kids.

Reckon this could end up being one of the most complicated weeks we've had in a long time in trades being as pretty much everything relies on the lions.

Heres my thinking of what will happen.

Brisbane - Get Astbury, Bell, Pick 52 - Give up Pick 17 and 42
Carlton - Get Picks 17 and 31 - Give up Yarran and Bell
Tigers - Get Yarran and Pick 42 - Give up Astbury and Picks 31 & 52

Brisbane - Get Bastinac and Pick 24 - Give up Aish
North - Get Pick 26 - Give up Bastinac
Collingwood - Get Aish - Give up Freeman and Pick 26
St Kilda - Get Freeman - Give up Pick 24

That would leave Brisbane with Picks 21, 24, 39, 52 and 60 that have value for academy picks plus picks 78, 96 and 114. The picks are valued at 2,501 points which are plenty to upgrade to Keays and Hipwood.

Probably a win for all involved. Reckon the Carlton fans will make out like they've lost out but the reality is Yarran is probably worth Brisbanes Pick 21 and Bell is probably a mid 2nd rounder so a little upgrade.

If they kick up a stink, then they would need to do the Collingwood / North / Saints trade first and then give Carlton 21 and 24 (might be able to give 26 and give up 31 for Bastinac which would be even better for Brisbane but complicates it further as they'd need to do all the trades in one big whack!!). 17 and 31 vs 21 and 24 has a really small differential in points (32 points) so I can't see this holding the deals up.

As long as Brisbane haven't gone cool because of something they found in Dave's medical then I expect it to get done.

Pick 6 should be worth a lot less, it's cursed.

I know that we re-signed Elton but what about Elton and our 2nd rounder for Yarran?

I reckon Elton would land us a good knife to cut the oranges with at half time!

Interesting that the Lions cooled on Astbury post visit.

Did they loose interest for medical reasons or because he didn't seem keen on moving to a club with much poorer facilities than the RFC?

Can't see us getting Yarran without trading pick 12
Then no deal; seek to get him free in 2016 as DFA. Must stand firm; trust development of our last draftees.
Expect Brisvegas have changed mind after medical on Astbury, so we will need to keep him and make the call on his future in 2015-16.
But concerned club are so locked into acquiring Yaz, who knows what they'll agree to.
