David Astbury, Thank You

maybe we should give Mckenzie a run as well.

If Astbury goes our kep position backs will be a little thin. Interesting proposition to see how McKenzie goes down back. He is a tank, pretty good speed and with a basketball back ground should be pretty agile for his size?

Surely there are plenty of tall defenders playing in the VFL or other state leagues that we can use a late pick or two on. Mitch Brown and Michael Hartley spring to mind. Michael Talia might be available.

Plenty of options.

Get him.

Agree with you TF re Talia. If we lose Astnury we are very thin and Chaplin has a year left at most.

Tot70 Brown might be an option too ! Rookies or late picks.

Ashbury for pick 21. What is Rance worth 6 first rounders?
I've never seen a season in which so many clubs are throwing away 1st rounders.
Redden pick 25-35
Henderson pick 15-25
Yarran pick 20-25
Even Treloar 2 X 1st rounders (especially when both could be top 10 picks)

If Curnow is at pick 12 and we snag him we will have another big bodied midfielder

Reckon his a pure forward , with the back half been thin, might not be the worst thing to recruit Mitch Brown for insurance

A bit on the immature side as Elton is, but has the height, mobility & some upside that we need.

Nasty case of Shizendraftitis, I dare say

You are probably right, but I don't rate Elton, and after him the cupboard is bare.

I think we have a lot of faith in Grimes and Batchelor been able to play tall like WC defenders do

Faith = "strong or unshakeable belief in something, esp without proof or evidence"

Same thinking a me. Talia could be a DFA, Hartley and Brown could probably be picked up in the 3rd round.

Reckon Astbury straight swap for 21 is a pipe dream. Reckon Astbury plus our 3rd (51) could get it over the line.

The Age reporting that the Lions have cooled on Dave. I wonder if we are talking to them about swapping picks for Pick 21 as a contingency. Pick 21 is 878 points, Picks 31 and 52 are 852 points. Probably need to grease the wheels, maybe with a spare late round pick so they have extra picks for their other academy picks outside of Keays and Hipwood.

Correct Mr Zip

Alternatively, Collingwood must take a hypnotist to meetings with players and other clubs.

Treloar, Aish and Howe is a booty that have us talking Top 4 lock next year. If they can basically swap Ben Kennedy for Jeremy Howe it is daylight robbery. Kennedy is the second coming of Ben Moore
