Damien Hardwick

I have been pretty active in examining Clarke's record. But "significantly worse picks"? In 2016-18, yes. But in 2019-2021 they had significantly better picks.

Draft picks 2016-21:
Hawks: 6, 7, 13, 23, 26, 29, 29, 35, 45, 46, 52, 67, 74, 76 (also traded out picks 7, 23, 26, 36 for O'Meara, 14 for Mitchell, 18 for Wingard, 34 for Impey - I wouldn't be praising their "Blair")
Tiges: 9, 17, (17), 20, (20), 21, 25, 28, 29, 29, 30, 34, 40, 43, 53, 54, 58, 62, 63, 72 The two 17/20s are because we got our money back for Higgins and CJ. I've criticised the picks but although it says we used two pick 17s the effect is we just shifted our one pick 17 from 2017 to 2021 and got Brown instead of Higgins. We did the same with our pick 20 (CJ), moved it to the 2022 draft.

That's pretty close, certainly not significantly worse either way. If anything, it favours them. They would have had way better picks than us if they didn't trade them out.

Outdrafted us? They did well with some late picks but you're not swapping Balta for Lewis or Shai for Moore. Shai and Noah with 29 and 25 are easily the best value drafting from either side in that time. Will their two top-10 picks G-Barrass and Ward be as good? I highly doubt it. Sonsie at 28 is every chance to be as good as Ward at 7 - granted Butler and MacDonald at 23/26 might match Sonsie - it's too early to tell, as it is for Downie (1 game), Mitchell (0), Brockman (11) and others.

Dow and Maginness were taken 8 spots apart in 2019. Maginness was touted as a big clearance mid but is averaging 11 disposals and has one clearance from three games this year - Dow is averaging 18.5 and 6 clearances in his two games. But it's too early to judge them too.

Day at 13 and Brown at 17 are very similar types. We were said to be keen on Day, from memory.

Will be keen to revisit in 2-3 years.

Great job.

Totally agree on Bolton and Balta, they’re yet to draft 2 players as good as that.

I’d add that DGB, hasn’t looked as promising as Gibcus and was picked higher. Admittedly tiny sample size.

Finally, I’d rapt if Brown is as good as Day, who is a cracking prospect.

Cannot believe that Dimma has retracted his comments due to Benny being a staunch labor supporter. . Really !!!
The landslide at Punt Rd may become a Tsunami at this rate

Did he retract them? I thought he just pointed out what everyone knew already, that it was sarcasm, but we all know the league and their media puppets have another agenda. P.S. We now live in a world where everyone operates on outrage.

At least Caro spoke out against her industry last night for *smile* journalism.

He didn’t retract them champ. the media took it out of context. The Herald Scum literally thought a throwaway line was worthy of a front-page story. anything to make Andrews look bad when every single state has the same isolation rules. Its always Dan’s fault, eh?

And when Dimma clarified his comments on Twitter yesterday, the Herald Scum still doubled down.

As for “Benny being a Labor supporter,” I have no idea where Benny Gale’s political allegiances lie… but I do know that Richmond is a footy club with a social conscience and working-class roots. Must make people like you, Bernie Finn and Steve Price as salty as hell.

If you saw AFL 360 last night, or watched last week when dimma was on, it was actually Robbo who planted the idea in dimma's head.
Bang as soon as dimma said it, robbo puts it on the front page.

Who? The Atlassian software billionaires, Cannon-brooks and whatever his name is, care about climate change but I'd doubt they'd be labor people, apart from them being progressive, you'd be struggling I'd say. 2 doesn't qualify as some.

Having a view on something that co-incides with Mark Robinson's is when you know you've got it totally wrong.

Is Hardwick in love? If he had a single friend that friend would show him some flowers in the garden, bid him to bend and smell them then drive the diminished intelligence from his brain with a shovel. (Handy for the cleanup.)

I'm glad that Mr Damien Hardwick has found true love. In as much as I ever countenanced an emotion, mine or otherwise. But I can't cop any more Dunning-Kruger Effect. Who does Hardwick think he is - Alistair Clarkson?

Just to prove once and for all that I understand emotions - I'm glad that RFC has a marketing department. Jayden Short can do his best work there. (SRSLY 5 votes, Mr Hardwick? He's walking your dogs.)

The finger must come out of the arse.

The isolation rules are in place because through the National cabinet which is chaired by the PM all states agreed to accept advice from the Australian health protection agency, also a commonwealth body. Each state puts in the rules because they have the legislative power, but the advice that Dimma was referring to is National advice from that Committee , it has nothing to do with Labor or Liberal or whether you happen to support Daniel Andrews or not.
Your comment is fanciful and based on a premise that is not true

Sorry . But to have Dimma on front page of the Herald Sun have a crack at Dictator Dan would of very much upset Benny . Common knowledge that Benny is pro labor and fully behind Dictator Dan

So you say Benny is "fully behind" Dan Andrews. Yes, he might be pro labor, but Brendon is nobodies yes man.

Interestingly enough, and for what it's worth, Bernie Finn is a rabid Richmond supporter
