Damien Hardwick

Kevin Sheedy is the only one who comes to mind and there were 7 years between 1993 and 2000.
I would gladly take a seven year stretch or is it itch!

Seems a lot more satisfying and bearable than 37 years of aimlessly wandering.

Now, what’s the plan?

The isolation rules are in place because through the National cabinet which is chaired by the PM all states agreed to accept advice from the Australian health protection agency, also a commonwealth body. Each state puts in the rules because they have the legislative power, but the advice that Dimma was referring to is National advice from that Committee , it has nothing to do with Labor or Liberal or whether you happen to support Daniel Andrews or not.
Your comment is fanciful and based on a premise that is not true
Sounds like Benny knows to listen to health advice from health experts, he probably listen to financial advice from financial experts, and football advice from footy experts.
no wonder he has been so successful running the RFC.

yep. i have seen him post stuff on some of the Richmond Facey pages over the years and reminded him of our club's values more than once :mhihi
I had the misfortune to work with him over several years. Being a Tiger supporter is the only thing he's got going for himself. In the day, he used to MC the president's lunch at home games.

Yeah, can’t think of any in my lifetime that had success again at the same after a very successful period.

As you say, Sheedy. Parkin had to leave Carlton after 81/82 and go back again for ‘95.

Malthouse had success at Collingwood after WCE, Matthews at Brisbane after Collingwood, Blight at Adelaide after Geelongs run of grand finals.

it’ll be interesting where Clarko will sit after his next coaching venture. And on Hawthorn, it’s 7 years since they’ve won a flag and I can’t see them winning one this year or next. They’re going to go a decade, at best, between flags.

Love the man. Can’t praise him enough. It’s early days this season no doubt …But can’t help feel the connection has gone. Started way back with the break up with the Mrs (like it or not) that went through the club.. plenty of close relationships between Mrs Hardwick and the players/partners….… then the assistants leaving …now dusty??….it looks a grind for the players now… manufactured….the ‘love/connection’ seems to have gone.

But that’s ok. Relationships end. Great ones too.

The question for the club - is he the man to guide us through a rebuild and take us back to the promised land whenever that might be? If no.. it will be time to move on.
I can’t help but think that the split with his wife has caused him to become a bit more selfish than th3 selfless Richmond Man he so often referred to. Perhaps the split meant he had a big settlement to contend with. Didn’t he refuse to take a pay cut, when most of his peers did. Was this the reason we lost Leppa and McCrae? Are we seeing a totally self-indulgent coach who placed too little importance in his support staff and an overinflated opinion of his own capabilities. I will be forever thankful to the RFC (not Hardwick on his own) for the 3 flags. All I see now is a man trying to replicate something that was real but maybe now is just lost. Time will tell.

I'm over this crap Leppa, McCrae Carcella changed richmond.
The reasons we got to where we got to were because,
*Dusty went to the next level.
*inclusions of Nakas Caddy Prestia and then lynch.
*stop relying in Vickery & Griffens
*playing kids Graham Rioli Castagna Bulter
*Drafting to fit holes Broad, Graham and Lambert
Hardwick is a legend in my eyes.
He turned the club into the most feared club for almost 5 years.
I loved every minute and I've told Hardwick to his face he is a legend of the greatest football club in the country.
He is today's version of Hafey.

Beavis is strong willed.
Obviously a huge mastermind in our success. No doubt.
What worries me is when we lose he appears to wipe it from memory and move on to next week with the same plan and expecting it to work against a different opponent.
This ensures same errors keep repeating.
If you can't win the ball out of the middle this week doesn't mean you will next week.
Needs to change things up a bit get some fast new guys in and make us less predictable.
Not all on him of course.
The losses of Leppa and Fly and to lesser extent Blake and Truck have been significant.
Really waiting to see if MC will change it up this week.
We need a circuit breaker.

If we were 3-0 with a percentage of 150 would you say Teague has made a difference?

Yeah, good point zigs!
My angle is we constantly need to evolve to stay ahead of the pack.
Just good to change it up.
Of course not Dimma's fault what happened to Lambo, Meatball, Floss , Aston, Jackmond and Optimus.
I suppose we are governed by the win loss scoreboard.
But does that also lead to wallpering over cracks?
A good discussion just the same.

Sorry . But to have Dimma on front page of the Herald Sun have a crack at Dictator Dan would of very much upset Benny . Common knowledge that Benny is pro labor and fully behind Dictator Dan

I reckon Benny would simply see that story appearing on the front page of the HUN as more of a reflection of the woeful state of that pathetic excuse for a newspaper than anything else.

Success is Fleeting...do we glory in past victories or forge ahead to Immortality! That is the only question.

Gloating over past glories leads to arrogance, arrogance leads to failure.

Great leaders inspire those they lead.

Look at the Ukrainians totally out matched in every area, yet inspired by a leader to defend their homeland at any cost even death. *smile* most Ukrainians dont even like Zelensky yet they follow for the greater good.

Personally I dont like Hardwick, yet he has the ability to lead and inspire...that is what he should do....if he does that we can win the flag this year. the impossible is only possible if you believe. Forget yourself Damien and LEAD!!
