Damien Hardwick

Just wondering if anyone can help me out here. With Brendon Lade taking the reins as senior coach this week, that makes another ex assistant to Dimma breaking into senior ranks, along with Caracella last week. Anyone know how many others have gone on to coach at senior level after being one of his assistants?
Off the top of my head, Leppitsch, McRae, Rutten, Caracella, Lade

Just watched his post-game press conference. Saw a glimpse of an angrier than usual Dimma. Angry at the umpiring (which he obviously couldn't verbalise), angry at us giving away stupid free kicks and angry at our poor pressure at stoppages. I like this. I can't stand it when he tries to cover up by talking up the opposition or uses meaningless phrases such as "we need to get better"

But it’s the players he has at stoppages that’s the problem - undersized ruck, small midfielders, lack of quality ball winners outside of Prestia and no bigger presence. Hence the call for Balta to ruck rove.

I hope he did not trot out the “we’ll learn from this”

I think it’s staring people in the face since last year - skill uplift required, clearance improvement. The game has changed.

Besides his reference to a journo about our free kick diff, it sounded like the same cliches as every other week. Looks like we're continuing with an old plan or part of it which is out of date.

He can be as angry as he likes, but he’d be better off trying to adapt his gameplan which doesn’t appear to hold up with how modern footy is being played now.

Yep - the game has changed and we haven’t. Plus we’ve aged quickly where it now counts - the middle

Could Dimma simply be following in the form of our ageing champs and perhaps the 3 premierships are making motivation that little bit harder. Perhaps we need a new face to grow with the youth that will come through.

Even when we get a good tap down our clearance specialists are on a coffee break so the opposition have a free hand. Been the same all season but we see unable to do anything about it

Dimma needs to be held to account for such a quick demise of this club. Terrible mismanagement of players, culture, assistants and fitness staff has seen our club become a rabble

I don't watch press conferences because they talk shitt in 90% of them.
He played a super slow side on a fast deck. Big V was running on the spot after half time. Why have a reserves team?
He is playing the same team every week, start dropping players.
I'm really worried that our bad drafting during 2016-2021 will push us back to 2010 quality because besides Big G, Balta & Bolton there's no much else.
Not sure Teague is a good appointment

Were you surprised by the game last night?

I was.

Mr Damien Hardwick sprung all those traps early, on Melbourne's stars Petracca, Oliver, Gawn and Whatsisname. And, of course, he minimised the percentage loss.

We knew he'd do that much.

I didn't know how and nor did Good Win. But RFC students knew that Hardwick would get would achieve his minimum goal.

*Oh but Melbournes were very unlucky in kicking 34 behinds.*

Hardwick created doubt in the first quarter. (Targeting Oliver, Petracca, Gawn, Jackson.) His plan involved disrupting systems for the first hour.

His plan worked. His pan was for them to miss.

*Oh but they would normally kick them.*

They're a pack of campaigners not worth four bob. Let's see if we can get a team on the park and learn them lepers.

Mr Damien Hardwick is refined and would always ask the Simon Goodwin type if he had trouble with the *smile* sticking to his fur.

Damien Hardwick put the recruiting of 2017-9 on show tonight. RCD was good by his standards, and Dow? We had to lie about his health to get him off. And get Matthew Parker on. (We've discussed Matthew Parker.)

Not many coaches have Mr Damien Hardwick's power. Some report to Adrian Dadoro. I know. That's not funny. It's abuse.

just watched the presser.

he's pissing down our backs and telling us its raining.

plenty of gaslighting from Dimma but that's what losing coaches do.
