Damien Hardwick

I was listening to ABC radio the other day and a lady called up as she is a neighbour of Will Hoskin-Elliot. She said that he described the sort of change and connection that Fly has created. Not just him but people like Leppa as well.
He was raving about how much better it is being there than it was.
Dimma and the coaches and others around him at Richmond have created a movement in coaching imo. Clubs no longer look for the obvious coaches, they look for connectors.
This of course is true of where management in general is moving as well although many employers still have a long way to go

Hardwick should pull his head in at this point and stop sniffing around Richmond’s staff and players, and concentrate on choosing where in the world he will be during GC’s preseason.

Remember when Dimma spoke at his first GC presser and said he was happy with the coaching team that was there and was very much looking forward to working with Steve King to progress the work that King had already started? Remember then King said he was going to relish the opportunity to work with Dimma, a 3 time premiership coach?

Then they recruited Grigg and Rance for coaching roles.

Well, now King has left the club to head to Geepong.

A lot of dribble coming from Hardwick and the Suns. Already you sense that he will be coaching in a totally different cultural environment than the tiges and that will ultimately have them destined for failure

King was out the minute they named Hardwick as senior coach.
Hardwick will only have his 'Yes Men' working under him.
He doesn't want to get backed doored..he isn't stupid

Now if only the gods let us have a Tiges/Gold Coast grand final................................

Ha ha so Dimma told the players they were spuds that night

He was right!

For me by using the word "you" instead of "we" it showed that he was mentally removed from the playing group.

Looks like we did both.
Was an indication that the club values player development over VFL wins judging by team selection in the last round this year.
Was essentially a dead rubber in the seniors whilst our VFL team needed a win to progress through finals,
With Sonsie out through suspension, the selection of Brown and Trezise to the senior’s more or less guaranteed a loss and an end to our VFL season.
Personally I would have thought finals experience would be a great learning experience, however I also appreciate that both boys acquitted themselves well and would have gained some confidence going into next season

Looks like Dimma went all '2016' on the group after the Dreamtime game, and without his (now ex) Mrs to pull him back into line it seems a logical choice in hindsight for both him and the RFC to have parted ways.

Is there some media about this? I don't doubt it, been away a few days and send like the discussion has started recently.
