Re: Cricket

Onya Dizzy. What a way to celebrate your 31st :birthday :clap

Mark Waugh was funny on telly reckoning Punter should declare in case it rains or whatever. His highest score was 153. Dizzy will get mileage out of his innings for many years to come. ;D

Re: Cricket

Well done Dizzy. Awesome achievement. :clap :clap
He now has a top score better than the following: Damien Martyn, Simon Katich, Mike Hussey, Michael Clarke. As well as the following Aussie batting legends: Steve Waugh, Mark Waugh, David Boon and Geoff Marsh.
Who knows, if Punter hadn't prematurely declared, he may have overtaken other greats :hihi :hihi ;D

Did you here that Hussey said, "as Dizzy was batting he was ticking of the highest scores he passed on along the way"

Re: Cricket

Sort off topic here but its been announced that FoxSports will telecast Pura Cup,One dayers & 20/20 matches next season.
Well done Foxsports although i get this funny feeling we will get to know the NSW team like the back of our hand

Re: Cricket

I am disheartened by all those in the media and cricket circles and even in PRE who question Bangladesh's test status. It took New Zealand 30 years to win their first test match!!! 30 years!!!!

And seeing as how we all follow the Tigers, we should have some empathy for teams who struggle, who are ill equipped, who are constantly thrashed, yet maintain a spirited supporter base.

Good on em, i say.

Here here and htey showed in the first test what they are capable of. Good on them, willtake time but they have some god signs. Their batsmen jsut need to be more patient and just need more bowling depth but I think they have a good solid foundation to build on. And I think Dav Whatmore is a good appointment too.

Re: Cricket

and thats respectable. plenty of teams have scored less in the second innings against wareny and co. i vote we adopt the bangla tigers as our second cricket side!!!

Re: Cricket

All over, the Aussies win by an innings and 80 runs

Warne 5 wickets

MacGill 4 wickets

Lee 1 wicket

The Bangers only really have 4 batsman, it all falls apart quickly once they have all gone, although Rafique (65 off 53 balls - 69 run partership (60 balls) for the last wicket) went out with a bang, hitting 6 sixes (+2 fours) and included 3 sixes off one Warne over!

Re: Cricket

theres something reassuring about guys who cant play at the highest level yet, but they go and have a tonk. not like some of the boring players from established test nations who just hang the bat out and concede quietly.

go the bangers!!!!!

Really? 30 Years? That's ridiculous. That means they probably weren't qualified for test cricket for 29 years. Here's hoping the Bangers aren't that far out of their depth.

seriously, they played test cricket for ages before winning, but obviously less test matches back then and wars and so forth, but i think it was 30 years or so. and they dominated us in the mid 80s. things turn around. we must never be so arrogant and complacent. they have already done quite well against us. beat us in a world cup game. thats big!

I think you'll find they beat us in just a one day game during the last Ashes tour. Big, yes, but not quite the World Cup. I think it was Zimbabwe that beat us in a World Cup match in '83.
