The longer they persist with this hack the less chance the Aussies have of winning the world cup.Martyn should be pensioned off also.

Credit to England to play themselves into a strong position after a difficult 1st day.

NSW no chance to make the shield final after being thumped by Tassie inside 3 days.

and that is the good news, the bad news the Vics are 4/68 Pilon made 1 and can say at least he has played shield cricket. Have no idea what Vics selectors are doing with Hussey and Crossthwaite.

28 balls is bloody slow but does not help when your 4-7

Re: Cricket

Vics have fallen away badly at the business end of the season.Disappointed they dropped Crossthwaite. He is a good keeper with a good future.

Re: Cricket

Mb,

Heartily agree.Should have kept faith in the young bloke, particularly now the season's nearing its climax.Confidence is what's lacking , not ability. White & Jewell seem to mounting a fightback but it's a long road....Pilon,like Rummans before him,had their chances with NSW & not quite up to the task, though 'honest' toilers...

Re: Cricket

England declared overnight. Chasing 368 to win, India are 48/1 approaching lunch on the final day. Hoggard got rid of Sehwag with a pearler but, much as in the first innings, Jaffer and Dravid are looking comfortable.

Re: Cricket

1-63 at lunch....Who's to say another session similar to that enjoyed by England on day3 may not happen again ? At least they've got the bowling attack to help make things happen unlike our blokes in Sth Africa (admittedly a different form of cricket but..).

It's one thing to have a youth policy and another to have second class cricketers decked out in the green & gold.
There's some pretty talented ex-ODI players for Australia who aren't being considered for this side because they're considered past it or only suitable for test cricket.

The selectors should be square in the spotlight considering some of the puzzling decisions recently.

Might be time to bring some tried and tested players back into the squad and halt this slide leading into the World Cup.
As a commentator said the other day, you should pick the best players available and currently I don't think the selectors are doing that.

As ive said previously ToO - seems like the selectors - ala boon, big merv and co seem to be having too many selection meetings down at the local. Time for some changes in that department. ;)

Re: Cricket

Aussie slook like posting a reasonable score 1/82 after 20 overs. With Ponting in a good score is likely.

Re: Cricket

Make that 2 4 99 after De Villiars run out Katich.   :wave :wave finally. You dont deserve to be in this side boy. Great run out but bloody lazy running and for gods sake im sick of these SA commentators.

Its bad enough listening to Tony Greig on 9.Now we've got him over there.

Re: Cricket

173-3 of 40.5 overs. Ponting just gone trying to push the score. Well, you would not expect martin to take the initiative would you ::) ::)

Probably the most biased commentary I've ever heard. Makes you laugh really.

Aussies now 214 for 4 off 45 odd overs. Martyn out for a reasnable 51 but it is still time for changer there.

I cant understand why fox hasnt even got one aussie commentator there. Makes me wanna throw up listening to this crew carry on.

Re: Cricket

Aussies 243 for 5 off 49 overs. Hussey just gone for 22 off 10 balls. Hopefully they will bring in Lee for the last over.....
