Ponting just given not out after a catch at square. What irks me is Tony Greig said its categorically out - what a wanker. Watch the replay Tony. Maybe its time for you to go quietly back to England and retire finally. Your a tired commentator and to call it like that was a absolute joke even after you saw the replay.

My thoughts exactly, Tuby... what a *smile*ing disgrace that Tony Greig is... I would have liked Mark Nicholas in the commentary box... unbiased and etc.

Spewing on the Sri LAnkan who took the catch... bloody cheat!

Richie was very cool as always, all he said was "Unless my eyes are failing me, that hit the ground first". Really think it's time for Greig to go.

Bit harsh on Jayawardene I think Gypsy....if you've played cricket before you'd know that sometimes you think you've taken a catch, but it has actually hit the ground first. I have no problems with him claiming the catch, the same as I have no problems with Punter standing his ground. Besides, a couple of overs later he went up to Ponting and apologised after hearing news from the Sri Lankan rooms that the reply showed that it had hit the ground.

Was listening to Patrick Smith on the way to work on SEN, this guy has seriously lost the plot. Said that Ponting, who has been crusading the policy that a batsman should walk if a fielder claims the catch (England, Sth Africa & Sri Lanka have refused to take up Ponting's offer), should have walked, even though he saw it bounce first. So walk even though you know you are not out?? Even KB came close to calling Smith a moron.

Good performance by Aussies to level series.Still big concerns with Kattich & Martin & the bowling still looks thin. When will the selectors wake up & put Jacques in ahead of Kattich.

Very harsh on Jacques not retaining his spot after that excellent 90 odd he scored. Was a seriously impressive innings.

Hussey better lift his game though, an average of 100.22, and strike rate of 99.77 in 31 matches....he may have to make way ;)

Martyn is finished and once again Katich is a DUD. Playing these two clowns throughout the ashes is one of the main reasons we got done.

I cannot stand Katich he is a nothing player and Jaques should be in the side if the selectors are fair dinkum about planning for the future.
Martyn and Katich must both be dropped fpr the South Africa tour as the world cup squad is formulated.

Get rid of these duds, (they are only playing for their places in the side, and have a look at young T Birt from Tassie cos he is a gun too.

Good post Craig, send this post to the selectors. How they keep these 2 hacks in the 1 day side is baffling.

Re: Cricket

I just get so annoyed at these duds MB, its the same as the RFC not getting rid of proven duds i just cannot make sense of a situation that is as obvious as the proverbial. :frustration

We should be on RFC match committee & selectors for cricket.

At least the Tigers have the excuse that they have a set list they can only change gradually and effectively once a year. What's the cricket selectors's excuse? They did pretty well turning over the test team I reckon but they've fallen asleep at the wheel on the one dayers.

Certainly have, although I notice the selectors have delayed announcing the 1 day side for South Africa.Maybe a couple of players are close to the chop.

Re: Cricket

Great move by Sri Lanka allowing Kattich to make runs & thus we send this dud to the world cup where he will let us down.

Re: Cricket

Despite the effortless victory tonight I do not belive Aust can win the world cup with the current side.Changes need to be made
Kattich-Despite his ton tonight he will let you down when the pressure is on.Jacques to replace him.
Martin-Finished.To be replaced by Cosgrove.
S.Clark.Bowls rubbish,Shane Watson to replace him.
Hogg-Despite servicable performances Warne must come in.
McGrath must come in for either Lewis or Bracken. At this stage I would keep Bracken in & use Lewis for backup.
Dory for the dustbin.
Hopes to go to South Africa but in the end probably only a depth player to cover for injuries.

Only disagree with Katich to be dropped Mb - Jacques to come in and replace Martyn with Jacques to open with Gilly and Katich to drop down below Punter to come in. The bowling really does face serious problems and if we go into the world cup with the same bowling attack we will be comfortably be put aside later in the piece.

Even though we disagree on 1 player Tuby I think we both realise the shortcomings of the Aussie side.

Great post Mb. Would agree with all those changes.
Although if Warnies not available Hogg has done nothing wrong and he did well in the last world cup at short notice.
