Cricket

Native South Australia:

Clem Hill
Greg Blewett
Ian Chappell
Greg Chappell
Darren Lehmann
Travis Head
Barry Jarman
Clarrie Grimmett
Jason Gillespie
Tim May
Rodney Hogg

They can have Hogg, and Grimmett is a moral South Austrlian, never playing for NSW and only three times for Victoria.
Les Favell as opener for mine. And in the conversation for captain for that matter.

Tasmania:

1. David Boon
2. Shane Watson
3. Ricky Ponting
4. Rohan Kanhai
5. Michael Bevan
6. Matthew Wade
7. Tim Paine
8. Richard Hadlee
9. Michael Holding
10. Patrick Patterson
11. Dennis Lillee

Alan Knott?

They are all very stiff Taz. Add Gorgeous George to that mix.

Incredibly hard team to break into though, such is the depth of talent.

What a bowling attack.

A good side, Hilfenhaus ahead of Patterson for mine, either Cox or Di Venuto ahead of Watson on the back of how many games Watson played for Tasmania.
Maybe Bailey in for either Wade or Payne.

Ok, my NSW:

Michael Slater
Don Bradman
Steve Smith
Allan Border
Michael Clarke
Adam Gilchrist
Alan Davidson
Richie Benaud
Jeff Thomson
Bill O'Reilly
Glenn McGrath

I've gone from a Head hater to lover.

Bancroft has scored plenty in Shield cricket but when you add in Australia A type games, Renshaw's been better and is a better player in my O.
I would also have been happy seeing Renshaw get the gig.

NSW:

Good luck!

Arthur Morris/Victor Trumper/Bob Simpson
Mark Taylor/Michael Slater/David Warner
Don Bradman
Allan Border
Michael Clarke/Steve Smith/Mark Waugh/Steve Waugh/Doug Walters/Stan McCabe
Adam Gilchrist
Alan Davidson
Richie Benaud
Ray Lindwall
Pat Cummins
Jeff Thomson
Bill O'Reilly
Nathan Lyon
Glenn McGrath
I know you did based on where they started their career but to make it easier
Border & Thomson are better known Queensland and Gilly from WA and all have remained there since retiring.

Miller & Harvey could be classified as NSW.

I see the SACA has released its all-time best team:

Clem Hill
Greg Blewett
Sir Donald Bradman
Ian Chappell
Greg Chappell
Darren Lehmann
Sir Garfield Sobers
Barry Jarman
Clarrie Grimmett
Jason Gillespie
Rodney Hogg
Geff Noblet

Surprised they didn't put Joel Garner in there.

David Hookes stiff to miss out to a couple of imports (Bradman and Sobers - also Grimmett was a Kiwi, via Sydney and Melbourne, and Hogg was a Victorian). And Sobers at 7 - ha!

Be interesting to see other states - NSW would be bloody tough.
Hookes very unlucky assuming it is based on record for state and George Giffen who has a statue and was an amazing all rounder according to George Giffen should be there ahead of Hogg.

It's based on who were the best players. Hookes stiff but who does he edge out of that side.

Giffen was born when the population of Adelaide was 73.

No Cox, Dene Hills, Faulkner, Woolley, Cooley, Divvas, Funky, Geeves or Cowan Leyser ;)
