Cricket

We are already giving you a hand by playing Bairstow, thats English generosity for you, always welcoming guests :D

I suspect England would love to drop Bairstow, but if they do, their tail looks mighty long. I am not surprised they have stuck with him, although I think his form with the bat has left a lot to be desired as well. You have to play the better batsman keeper over the better keeper batsman unless you have some reasonable batting ability in your bowling ranks, like we do with Starc and Cummins.

Pure and simple, if the English are dinkum about Bazball, then Foakes will never replace Bairstow unless the difference between their batting ability becomes a lot less.

Foakes has played 20 tests, but he actually scored over 15% of his total of 934 test runs in his first match, with a hundred in his first innings.

Been barren since then. Struggles against pace IMO, and I know he changed his style to be less front foot and his stance to be more open and therefore provide the opportunity to score on the off side, but the impact has been minimal at best.

Series more evenly matched than we’d all like it to be.

No Warne or McGrath to stomp the throat and keep it stomped.

Pace attack lacking that third attacking seamer right now. Hazlewood slightly off, Boland one-dimensional. Hopefully Neser. Plus, Lyon injured.

Batting looks good on paper but Marnus and Smudge a tad vulnerable at 3 and 4. Warner flat out unreliable.

Still think we’re the better side and hopefully the law of averages sees that come to light over ten more days of cricket.

So are we all watching the Major League Cricket in the US? Who’s your favourite club, the Orcas? Or the Freedom? I know, it’s the Unicorns!

If they're not going to bowl Murphy, let's stack the batting and make them beat us.

Let's go:

Warner
Ussie
Marnus
Smith
Head
Marsh
Green
Carey
Neser
Starc
Cummins
