No.

Warner out, yes. Bancroft can stay out. He's not good enough.
Yeah, is very dodgy early in an innings outside off stump, mind you what batsmen isn't.

Who would you have replace Warner? Harris another chance? Or perhaps Henry Hunt?

How did we go last time we played India under our former coach? Or the just time we played on the sub continent?

Got beat 2-1. By the time this series finishes, reckon that might get looked back on as a decent result.

Last series in Asia in July 22' we couldn't even beat Sri Lanka (tied 1-1) who are now minnows.

Maybe in India. DOn't fancy it in Australia and certainly not England.

Yes. Carey batted superbly in the first innings but was wholly reliant on the sweep and reverse sweep and it brought him undone. Need to be able to get down the pitch and hit straight too.
Yeh, Carey pre-meditated the sweep too much in the end. Smith used his feet beautifully too.

It is easier said than done but you can't get caught on or behind the crease like we were. Marnus had a plan to play from the crease but you are relying too much on your eye and consistent spin/bounce. Jadeja and Ashwin will simply keep zoning in on the stumps and eventually you'll miss one. You have to make the bowlers change tactics/lines, give them something to think about.

Although Jadeja averages just over 20 in India and Ashwin a fraction more. They are extremely challenging on their home decks.

If I were picking the team either Head or Labuschagne would open, with Warner out. Yeah, maybe Head so he can hopefully get off to a flier against the quicks and not have to start against spin. I'd go:

Khawaja
Head
Labuschagne
Smith
Handscomb
Green
Carey
Agar
Starc
Cummins
Murphy

No way they will drop Lyon, but that looks a better balanced team to me, with greater lower-order batting depth which was a massive difference between the sides in the first Test.

Harris continuing on from his 100 in the shield game a couple of days ago, is 74 not out in the Marsh Cup game against QLD. Vics 1/192, needing 11 off "21" overs.

Agar for Lyon??

You need to ditch the Agar love. He's just not good enough.

They will also play Kuhnemann ahead of Agar if they want a left armer.

He's been flown over for that exact scenario i.e. Green fit to bowl they might play 3 spinners, And Agar won't be one of them.

Don't tell me what to do! You're not my real dad!

I'll ditch the Agar love sometime between @tigerman ceasing to suggest we pick Bancroft, and @achillesjones no longer insisting we must play the best line-breaking half-back in the country in the forward line.

Na, I don't care. Play Kuhnemann. Two offies didn't do much good when the left-handed no.8 and no.9 put on a match-winning partnership.

Bancroft 80 not out in Wa's win over Sa in the Marsh Cup, has scores of 80*, 27, 80, 53* and 95* from his last 5 innings........just saying.

Lyon got 1 for 126 on a spinner's paradise. I'd back anyone else over him these days. He doesn't have any variation. and the Indians just dine out on him.
