Cricket

You'd have a point if there were any young batsmen making a claim. Head was preferred because he's younger, despite Uzzy being a better player. Pucovski would be in, but...

Who else is there?
Starc?

Noone really, Pucovski would be playing for Harris if he was available

A friend of mine is related to someone who is coach in South Australia and he said that there are enormous wraps on Henry Hunt as a future test opener. Watched him the big bash the other night and he played 3 of the best cricket shots you would see , a square cut, leg glance and a cover drive. Immaculate timing. He is clearly not a 20/20 player because as soon as he went the big hit he got out.

He's doing well. But is it long term thinking?
He's 35 and we are 3-0.
We play a younger fella to help build their experience and transition to the next generation.
It might mean we would struggle in this test. I'd cope that if our #5 was under 30

Its no offence to Khawaja.
Brad Hodge also missed out. At least Khawaja isn't a Victorian to be shafted
Looks like I was wrong. Happy for Khawaja to make a ton. He's looked classy today

Yeah, he's made a good start. I haven't really seen him bat so can't comment but the Aussie cricket grapevine is a pretty good indicator, even if the Croweaters big up their blokes a bit.

Nine Test tons for Usman. Only 26 Aussies have made 10 or more.

Its remarkable that everyone seems to be completely set on Head taking 5 back again. It just seems strange. Khawaja came in here at 3-117, a kind of tricky spot and has anchored this innings for Australia.

Head has played 1 good innings this series, at Brisbane where he scored 152. Came in at 3-189 when Australia were already ahead of Englands 1st innings score by 52.

Chalk and cheese in terms of how they have scored their 100's and how they have anchored an innings. Head has scored 96 for his other 3 innings, so ok, but not *smile* hot at 32 average.

If I was the Australian selectors I'd be giving Khawaja another crack in Hobart ahead of Head.

Please stay off the site while you are infectious. Thank you.

Leave my buddy alone!

BTW why arent we declaring here. End of day 2. 13 overs left. Some rain around next three days.

Poms would HATE to go in now after what happened in Melbourne.

And Yes Leysy has laid the draw early on day one when at $1.40

I'd probably be slapped by other English supporters for suggesting this, but after losing so many overs yesterday, why hasn't play been extended to 7pm tonight?

Pretty sure the players' association sooked up about long days so the maximum they can add is half an hour before the scheduled start time and after the finish time. Can't have our precious millionaires working more than seven hours a day 25 times per summer.

Shame about the no-ball, we were due. Just quietly, Warner's developed into a reliable slipper.

2 days of test cricket and we no England wickets have gone down. I might break out the Bollinger tonight.
