Cricket

Saffers have a good chance to knock off India tonight. 2/118 chasing 240, I'd call it 50/50. Much depends on the skipper Elgar, a good choice to lead a rebuilding side - he's tough and resolute and never gives his wicket away. Keegan Petersen looks a compact and organised player with nice timing, and the new keeper averages 51 in first-class cricket, so they might have found another couple to go with Jansen.

Yeah backed the Saffas to get them @$3.40

Now to decide whether to lay off - They're into $1.50

They're pretty fragile and have a long tail. If Elgar goes they could collapse.

Incidentally, @mrposhman the 'Dean Hedley Test' at the MCG in 1998 was one where they made up a stack of time. Boxing Day was washed out, then they started early and played late and the game finished late on day four, with 303 overs bowled in the three days of play. From memory, with both sides close to a win, day four finished close to 8pm. Great match, shining example of get it done spirit.

Who saw Rishabh Pant's dismissal last night. Second ball he faced, Rabada gave him a rip-snorter of a sniff, hit the gloves. Next ball he charged and did that gambler's swipe of his and nicked behind. For a bloke who loves a chirp, he will hear the words 'gutless', 'brainless' and 'weak as *smile*' for some time methinks.

It was a good price when they started, 10 to 1, it was still running at half past one;)

Only joking Royce:)
10/1 would have put it all on a place! More like 6-4. Anyone who saw the winner is lying. Gents, we shall adjourn to the Nags thread for further discussion...

A great win by a very inexperienced South African side.
Looks like they may have found another quick in left arm Marco Jansen.
Petersen did well with the bat too, they've played half a dozen tests between them.

Warney is a flog, he's the greatest spin bowler ever, but he's a knob spanker.

The red ball cupboard must be empty if Burns and Hameed were the 1st choice openers for the first two tests.
I can't remember a worse opening pair.
