Cricket

That's two chances in two Tests Carey has not dived for. That should have been a regulation catch.
Was a weird one. Seemed to shuffle the feet a bit further apart to start with n then was stuck spread wide n unable to lunge across. Been fairly smooth n composed behind the stumps except for the wide diving attempts. Pommie Jos at least has him covered in this aspect, but only just.

Gotta love a bloody proper test that actually offers the bowlers a genuine wicket.
Until that final hour where the Poms turned up their toes n started waving the white flag there was a riveting contest between bat and ball.
Plenty of Batters from both sides managed to get solid starts during the first innings, there's a few of them then went n gave their wickets away playing lazy n untidy, unnecessary shots.
Good bounce n just enough movement for every over to have some interesting moments as long as good line n length were kept.
And bloody runs had to be earned by honest n diligent hard work, far to many pitches are bland, boring back breakers where the Batters can just flail away and score hundreds without actually earning their keep.

Bit sad for Harris not being able to winkle out a ton. Poor bugger split a finger last night n worked his arse off today, could have been out a dozen times such was the bowling n cheekiness of the pitch. Guess he'll have to be content with knowing that at least he top scored from the 24 wickets that fell, an honest days work in anyone's book.

Would have been the luckiest ton I have ever seen if he had got it.

Think that was Labuschagne in Adelaide - dropped three times and caught out off a no-ball. Not to mention near misses.

Has Michael Vaughan been part of the coverage all summer?

Haven't noticed him before. Bit of a shock Uncle Rupe would turn a blind eye to racism.
Not sure this is totally fair. It may well have happened the way it has been described in the hearings in the UK but if we start wrecking peoples careers on accusations then I start to feel very uncomfortable.
I am certainly no defender of racists nor an advocate for Murdoch but I think it would have been very unfair to ban Vaughan.

Quite possibly.
But there's been enough in the pitch that on the back of some premium bowling the batters have only been able to earn n graft some runs while never really being on top.
Not sure anyone would ever have him up there as a premium grade batter, but sometimes ya gotta feel a little for the player when they've been grafting n struggling over n over then fall just a little bit short. His 76 was a bloody big knock in the context of the two innings.

At least he didn't get sucked into giving his wicket away like jig a jig did, n he's a good enough bat to make it look easy almost any time.

If we win this test I would have liked to see us blood a young opener, Street or Hunt probably. Renshaw might be also worth another go but he isn’t opening for Queensland anymore.
Pucovski is the one they would love to be playing, not sure it will ever happen now. Rare talent.
Harris will play at least the next test now but he isn’t the long term answer.

Just wondering if anyone here knows much about Scott Boland. ..... worked with a bloke 30 years ago, he was a chippie and a bit of a hard bastard, first name Mick, lived in Parkdale, had a toddler son.
I believe Scott comes from that area too and keep thinking he could be that son.

What's the previous best bowling figures of a bowler to be dropped in the next test ?
