His hands are too low, and he pushed out at that one instead of letting it come. He's a funny one, reckon he has a good technique, but he just keeps finding ways to get out.

He's a hit through the line player. Can trust the bounce here.Malan seems to be built to bat in Aussie conditions. His batting averages.
In Australia, 551 runs at 46.
In England, 369 at 23
In NZ, 78 at 19.5.
Hasn't batted anywhere else in Tests.
Carrying a big argument there spook, you sure it's safe to put the boot into Warnie like that ????Spinners have always cleaned up the tail. In fact, good bowlers always have.
The best and easiest way to take a lot of top order wickets is to be a fast bowler with a new ball.
You need to stop complaining that Lyon is not Shane Warne and appreciate him for what he is.
Not playing a spinner is usually a dumb move.
At the risk of inserting more facts into the conversation,
Wickets Taken by Batting Order

Tail (8-11)

The defence rests.
Dizzy was a champion.
McGrath-Gillespie is up there with Lillee-Thomson and Lindwall-Miller.
If Starkers is injured n can't bowl then were without our 1 2 3 strike bowlers n using Nessie, Green n Jhye who have about ten tests worth of experience between them as well as Gary. Obviously we'd want as many runs as possible in the bank in case a few Poms get on a roll with over 4 sessions of play available to them. Not sure why Australia are still batting, especially if Starc isn't 100%.

Should still be able to winkle them out for around 300 the way they've been batting, but there's no way we'd want to give them half a sniff at squaring the series.
Thanks for that very illuminating. This breakdown of wickets by batting positions is good stuff.

Root seems to have less time v Green compared to other bowlers. Green generating sustained pace. Good opportunity for him to showcase his talent in an inexperienced (test wise) bowling group.Green is going to uproot Root before too long.

Should make them sit down and listen to Marnus for a couple of hours. Would do more psychological damage than an Adelaide Crows training camp.England need to sit both Burns and Hameed down and force them to watch videos of Marnus so they know what they can and cannot leave. He leaves predominantly on length regardless of the angle. Burns in the 1st innings and Hameed now in the 2nd, didn't need to play at either delivery, they could have easily left on length. They need to learn that its not England, these wickets are bloody hard and will bounce well.
Yes, Green reminds of Glen McGrath a bit. Not saying he is anywhere as good, but with his height he gets that extra bit of bounce off a good length ball.Root seems to have less time v Green compared to other bowlers. Yeh just 22 could be anythingGreens going to be a very good player, a similar type to Stokes IMO. Stokes started in a similar way, better with the ball initially, but Green's batting will come on well IMO. Has all the talent to be the best all rounder in the world.
Don't they wear ball guards anymore?
He'll be walking like a cowboy tonight.Roots nuts have taken a bit of a pounding today.
