I dunno, he beats the *smile* out of James Brayshaw, (and i wish someone would).

The thing with Brayshaw he gets so many things wrong. He was on the radio yesterday I think when I think it was Smith was given out and he reviewed. Decision got overturned and the 1st thing Brayshaw said was "England lose the review". Eh - it was Australia that reviewed. The amount of times he and BT in particular get things wrong, its astounding that they are still employed.

Can't even remember when the last good Ashes series was on. This is a joke from the Pommies. Arrived for a holiday again.

Geez what a horror scorecard for England. These are partnerships.

7, 5, 138, 7, 7, 5

Yuck. 6 partnerships so far. 5 haven't beaten 7 runs. :vomit:poop:

This test is all over. Lyon has the ball bouncing and turning a mile. He could take 10 wickets in the second inning !:ROFLMAO:

The thing is, we've put pressure on ourselves due to some pretty shoddy fielding.

You look at the highest scorers of the series for Australia, Warner (189 runs), should have been out early in Brisbane and in Adelaide. Marnus has played 2 innings and been out 6 times.

Dropped catches, wickets off no balls have hurt us so much this year. I think everyone knew out of the 2, bowling was probably going to be our better performing component, the fact that we have struggled to keep the aussie batting totals down (not only due to the bowlers, but as I said, dropped catches, missed run outs etc), has put a heap of extra pressure on an already frail batting department.

Opening with Burns shows exactly where our batting is at, having to open with someone with as many flaws as he has (and he's been shizen in the field too) just shows that we don't have a lot of depth.

Last chance saloon in the Boxing Day test for the Pommies, otherwise just go home.

Fix some of our fielding and it will go a long way.

11 dropped catches in 2 innings (I won't include the 2nd innings in Brisbane) compared to the aussies with 1 in 3.

Add to that, 2 dismissals off no balls and an easy run out missed and it if you give a team that many chances they will punish you.

This should be the lineup in Melbourne IMO.

Hameed
Crawley
Malan
Root
Stokes
Bairstow
Buttler
Bess
Broad
Wood
Anderson

Stokes to sit in an ice bath for a week. :)

He's clearly carrying an injury. Probably been one of our best players in this test.
Stokes came into the series under a cloud, so was under done, and then he was asked to bowl a taxing body line strategy. Hard to understand, but he's a champion, who can't be treated lightly.

I think they asked him to do it because he was the only 1 capable. Thats not Anderson or Robinsons gig, probably not Broads either anymore. Its what we have Archer, Wood (also being managed with injury) and Olly Stone. With both Archer and Stone injured and Wood rested it really impacted with only 1 possible to try that bodyline tactic.

Having all of Archer, Stone and Sam Curran (slower but a leftie) injured, it took most of the variation out of the attack hence the bowling attack we have in this game is not ideal. Perhaps we could have played Topley but he's still not express pace.

With hindsight Wood should've sat out the Gabba test, with either Broad or Anderson taking his place. Wood, with his pace was the guy to bowl the short stuff, even if it was 3 or 4 over spells.

Green's made a solid case to be 1st change bowler in the 2nd innings. Sustained pace & deservedly picked up a couple of wickets when they were sorely needed. Now needs to spend some to crease next time we bat & hope he starts to feel he belongs.

J Richardson has been very poor this innings.
Not test standard.
Bowled rubbish all day and could not hit the stumps against the bottom batters.
Green a much better bowler..but geez he has a problem with the bat.
