Symonds will get the nod of this other unknown but will need a good performance to retain his spot. The selectors are obsessed with getting Watson into the side.

Funny that they never seemed to push Watson when he played for Tassie. Change your state and you'll make the team. Could you imagine if Tait played for NSW he'd have played 30 tests by now.
Alot more than he has.

Re: Cricket

If we win the test in Perth, what a fizzer Ashes series it's turned out to be.

3-0 and it's all over.

Would it be worth going to the Boxing Day test?

Yeah... I reckon he is bloody average.

Re: Cricket

The obsession will be shortlived.

Once they realise that they don't need an all-rounder to win back the Ashes, especially one of Watsons mediocrity which without meaning to run him down he is only an average player, they'll move on to the next project player ie Voges or Cullen or White or ? They've been obsessed to find a Flintoff clone which they thought they needed to win the Ashes but it's been shown now that they don't.

Can someone just remind me of who the current Australian selectors are?
Harry,Larry & Mo

Honestly - your not too far off there cap - time for these guys to bloody stand up and take the future option instead of relying on guys that have been but are not in the future of aussie cricket for gods sake. Too many times they continually take the easy way out....SOFT!!!!

He has a first class average of 49, superior to your love child Hodge.

3 free members tickets slung my way say yes!!

A nice day with a hearty session by the bar and out on the tear afterward should round it off nicely.
Giving redford one of the freebies the slight downer, but he can be expected to buy me my *smile* all day I'm assuming

Re: Cricket

Andrew Hilditch, David Boon & Merv Hughes are the current selectors from SA, Tassie & Victoria respectively so how in the hell don't their home state players get a look in? Me thinks that the selectors don't have much a say as everyone is lead to believe.

Re: Cricket

You guys may have already seen these out there. Some great stuff to send to your English friends.

I particularly like the one where Stephen Harmison is dressed as David Bowie holding The Ashes and when you roll the cursor over the picture the words "My Mama said, to get these won, you'd better not bowl like Harmison."

Love it.

How can they just 'slung your way' so easy ?   Are you a lucky man Bubbles? ;D

My Liverpudlian brother in law promised he would buy tickets back in February this year because his Pommy mates were coming here for the summer but they changed their mind and now I'm stuck to watching 'whatever' on the bloody Channel Eddie and the Anti-AFL Foxtel again.   :-\ :hihi
