Re: Cricket

I've just read claws post from a couple of days ago. Summing up he said we need to make changes and sugested mcgrath, lee, the spinner bloke, gilchrist, hayden and martyn should all be omitted. (Sorry claw if I misinterpret your post but it's hard without punctuation).

So 6 changes to a team that is 2-0 up.

Yep. That makes sense.

Gone.
He was obviously going to get dropped.Hodge should be given another chance but won't be,maybe Symonds will come in until Watsion is fit.

Hodge injured mb
I would like to see Jacques, Rogers, North or Voges

Re: Cricket

Strange timing by Martyn to make the announcement to retire mid series.
Could be construed as a slightly selfish act and you would hope it doesn't destabilise the side.
Might have been better to just take the dropping(as was no doubt the reason) on the chin and make the annoucement when the series is over or the Ashes were won.

Beers are you MB!!

Cant find the flintoff injury story though ? :p

Re: Cricket

halleyleuyah.  12 months too late but got there in the end.  Haydos next.  Agree with craw on McGrath too, still has rat cunning and perserverence but lost his zip, just taking up space.  One of the all time greats, but times up.

after the series for MH and GM though.

Jacques and Mc Gill in the squad now as well.
mmm,McGill will probably play with Jacques 12th man.Pressure on Hayden to score in next test.

So Martyn out and Mc Gill in you reckon?

Replacing a batsman with a bowler on a Perth deck ?

Ballsy I reckon.

BTW Flintoff is still listed in the Poms squad too.

We could play with 2 batsmen & still win.
