Who wants a close series. I want to win 5-0, an innings victory every time if possible.

Amen to that.

You've gone soft MB.
No I haven't,I prefer to watch a closely faught series like in 05 with the result our way.

No you have....be told ;D

I suppose you like seeing Richmond win by a point as well as opposed to dishing out 10 goal hidings?
No,silly comparison.

C'mon softy, tell us how you shed tears of sorrow for poor old Harmison after his first spell  :'(
No I didn't

Of course you did!
You also sent a letter of good luck to all their imports Strauss,Pieterson and Jones on their selection for her majesties eleven, and managing god awful attempted english accents.
I even hear you've bought a nice union jack tea towel to commemorate the poms visit.
Nice.

Re: Cricket

you don't need a union jack t towell, the aussie flag conveniently has the union jack on it, you get a free pom flag with every aussie flag, its a 2 for 1 deal.

the best Barmy Army chant was 'god save YOUR (point at aussie cheer squad) noble queen
long live YOUR noble queen, etc.' pretty funny.

can anyone hear the fanatics?

BARMY ARMY BARMY ARMY BARMY ARMY
Hang onto that thought, Bunnerz. The singing is about the only thing the Poms will win this Summer.

Too true, the fanatics struggle as human beings and probably did not see one ball being bowled if a repeat on previous performances. I hope the same crowd control is in on Boxing Day and there is no buglers, Mexican Waves and Beach Balls.

Game over, poms all out for 370.Overall a disappointing 1st test considering all the build up.Game should have been all over yesterday with Ponting's poor decision to bat again.Hoping the 2nd test will be closer with an Aussie victory.

Hopefully it will be a bigger whitewash than this test.

No mercy, lets wipe the floor with 'em.

I'm with you mate! :clap

Can't believe the people I've heard on TV/radio, out in the street, etc.....going on about "seeing a contest" or "boring when Australia win so easily"...

What the hell is this country coming to?

I want Australia to BURY THEM....every Test over in 3 days, with Australia winning 5-0...and Warnie absolutely giving it to Pietersen and them bloody smart-arse Poms.

We're getting too soft out here now...back in the old days, we hated the Poms.....used to hear stories and read books on the Bradman era...right through to Lillee and Thommo trying to knock that motorboke helmet right off Tony Greig's head, with his head still in it! :hihi

Its about time many Aussies got the fire back int he belly an stopped being so soft and sympathetic.....cause if the Poms do happen to win them again, they will not be as sympathetic back to us.

And once and for all, can someone knock the head of this idiot:

Re: Cricket

heard an interview with m.clarke this morning saying

"It was good to see England playing so well in the second innings, they are a great side"

sounded like he actually enjoyed seeing england try and fight back....

anyone think bucknor is struggling, again he missed a few of b.lee's no balls
one getting freddie out....

Re: Cricket

Aussies name same 13 for 2nd test. Can't see them changing any of the 11 that played in Brisbane reagardless of the wicket.

Re: Cricket

It's an oddity. For some reason with Australias dominance over the last 15 years that people say they want a "contest". When they get a contest and the Poms win the Ashes we want revenge. We get revenge and thrash them then we want a contest again!

Re: Cricket

Expect a huge mob of press when Michael Vaughan takes the field for the England Academy XI against a Western Australian Second XI in Perth today.

Big ask for him to play in any part of the ashes.

Although you'll want him to hit a ton won't you MB??

Re: Cricket

Channel 10 news saying that McGrath has missed training. I hope this isnt a repeat of last years Ashes where we won the 1st test easily, McG got injured and things went down hill from there! Does anyone know whats wrong with his heel? First its bruised then another source says he has blisters.

As good as he is, perhaps his body is trying to tell him something.

Re: Cricket

Could be and prob will be Mcgraths last Ashes series. I think he will play and i really really hope he does. If ENG win or even draw this test Australia will be under quiet a bit of pressure as England will still be there for a Ashes series draw or even win the series. AUS need to win this game its so cruital

Re: Cricket

Poms definately will get better.

I don't know if we''ll see both sides bowled out on the Adelaide batting paradise though, I see the Perth and Melbourne tests as their window of opportunity, with Warne and Mc Gill keeping us in good stead in Sydney.

Re: Cricket

Since 1990/91 every Adelaide Test bar 1997/98 against South Africa has produced a result. West Indies won in 1992/93, England in 1994/95 and India in 2003/04, and Australia won the rest.

With mostly fine weather forecast, expect it to be either 2-0 or 1-1 going to Perth.
